In conducting this research, we aim for the following objectives:

- Firstly, based on an understanding of the theory of the self, the lyrical self in lyrical poetry aims to highlight the unique features of the lyrical self in Luu Quang Vu's poetry. These include: the various aspects of the lyrical self's expression in Luu Quang Vu's poetry, and the artistic methods of expressing the lyrical self such as poetic symbolism, poetic form, artistic space and time, language, and tone…

- Through exploring the lyrical self in Luu Quang Vu's poetry, the author aims to affirm the unique features of the poet's poetics, style, and position within the flow of modern Vietnamese poetry.

- In achieving the aforementioned goals, the thesis also makes certain contributions, namely that it both inherits the observations and assessments of previous researchers and selects and explores to clarify the distinctive features of the lyrical self in Luu Quang Vu's poetry.

Furthermore, the limitations of the topic, I think, could also be of interest to those who share this concern.

On conducting the research on this topic, we aim to achieve the following objectives:

- First, based on seeking theory of self, lyric self in lyric poems, the author would like to indicate unique characteristics of lyric self in Luu Quang Vu's poems. They are: aspects to express lyric self in Luu Quang Vu's poems, artistic methods to express lyric self such as: symbols, types, space and time, language and tone, etc.

- By learning about lyric self in Luu Quang Vu's poems, the author aims to confirm unique characteristics of versification, style and position of the poet in the flow of modern Vietnamese literature.

- Achieving the above objectives, the thesis has certain contributions, which have inherited the previous researchers' statements and assessment, also chosen and discovered in order to clarify the unique characteristics in Luu Quang Vu's poems.

In addition, some limitations of the thesis, however, may inspire people with the same interest in such title.
