10. Summary of the thesis results:
The essay "Black Identity in Jordan Peele's Get Out (2017) and US (2019)" aims to clarify how Black identity is constructed in these two films from various forces such as culture, socio-historical context, power, and racial consciousness, while also examining the prominent narrative and cinematic language elements of the two films that vividly portray Black identity.
This thesis combines approaches to cinematic narratology and cinematic semiotics with interdisciplinary research methods such as cultural studies and anthropology. The underlying theory for the thesis is the theory of ethnic identity. In this thesis, identity is viewed in terms of both stable characteristics and the process of construction. Comparison, contrast, analysis, and synthesis will be applied in the development of the thesis.
First, the thesis points out that the concepts of race and ethnicity should not be equated, despite their many similarities. Black people in America can be considered an ethnic group, and their identity is influenced by their African origins and their current living environment in the United States. Next, the thesis analyzes the denial of identity as a cause of violence among African Americans, an act of self-discovery. Many researchers have asserted that the issue of race in America is inherent in the nation's DNA and therefore cannot be easily resolved. However, reconciliation is not impossible. Finally, the thesis offers a different perspective on African Americans, who are still viewed as outsiders in their own country. On the one hand, they retain some African cultural habits, while on the other hand, they adapt to their new environment.
The process of constructing and affirming the identity of Black people in America is like integration without assimilation. This demonstrates the futility of establishing a completely separate racial regime. Furthermore, it affirms the multifaceted nature of identity. This is not a static element but one that is constantly evolving based on its inherent foundation.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
The thesis of Black Identity in Get Out (2017) and US (2019) by Jordan Peele are aimed to clarify: Black identity is constructed in two films based on the societal force such as culture, social situations - history, power, value of a race, etc., and at the same time recognize the outstanding elements in terms of narrative and visual language of both films that clearly have portrayed the identity of black people.
The thesis combines the cinematic narrative approach, cinematic semiotics with interdisciplinary research methods such as culturology, anthropology. The basic principles of the position of the thesis is the theory of ethnic identity. In this thesis, identity is seen in both its stable nature and in the development process. The use of comparison, collation, analysis and synthesis will be applied in the process of developing theses.
First, the thesis points out that the two concepts of race and ethnicity should not be identical even though they have many similarities. Black people in America can be seen as an ethnic group. And their identity is influenced by their African origins with their current habitat in the United States. Next, the thesis analyzes identity as not the cause of violence among Americans with African origin. This acts as a form of identity tracing. The issue of race in the US has been confirmed by many researchers to exist like the nation's DNA and therefore cannot be easily solved. Even so, it is not without the possibility of reconciliation. Finally, the thesis gives a different perspective on the group of African Americans who are still considered aliens in the country they live in. On the one hand, they still keep the cultural habits of Africans and on the other hand, change them to fit the new living environment.
The process of creating and confirming the identity of black people in America is like the motto “integration but not dissolution”. This shows the hopelessness of fully establishing the racist regime. In addition, it affirms the multidimensionality of identity. This is not a static feature, but always moves on base on an inherent foundation.
