10. Summary of thesis results:
In the mid-late 20th century, the formal formation of literary geography theory affirmed literature as a significant source of geographical knowledge and paid extensive attention to the relationship between geography and literature. The complexity and diversity of literary geography theory still boils down to three main issues: geographical environment and writers, geographical environment and literary texts, and geographical environment and readers. Today, literary geography studies continue to develop, creating connections with other critical practices and fields of study, influencing the ways in which writers and readers engage with texts and their geographical spaces.
The novel Memory of Memory by Nguyen Vinh Nguyen depicts a unique and complete geographical area of Da Lat with two structures: the legendary literary geographical area and the nostalgic literary geographical area. Behind that legendary and nostalgic character, Da Lat has preserved in the heart of the city slices of nature, culture and politics, while exposing the turbulent and complex reality of life and people here. Exploring the art of constructing Da Lat's literary geographical area in the novel Memory of Memory by Nguyen Vinh Nguyen, we realize that intertextual space and narrative art play an important role in revealing the geographical area of Da Lat.
