10. Summary of the thesis results:
In the mid-to-late 20th century, the formal formation of the theory of literary geography affirmed literature as a significant source of geographical knowledge and paid extensive attention to the relationship between geography and literature. The complexity and diversity of literary geography theory ultimately boil down to three main issues: the geographical environment and the writer, the geographical environment and the literary text, and the geographical environment and the reader. Today, literary geography studies continue to develop, linking with other critical practices and research fields, influencing how writers and readers engage with the text and its geographical space.
Nguyen Vinh Nguyen's novel, *Memories of Memories*, portrays a unique and complete geographical region of Da Lat with two distinct structures: a mythical and nostalgic geo-literary region. Behind this mythical and nostalgic character, Da Lat preserves within its heart slices of nature, culture, and politics, while simultaneously exposing the turbulent and complex reality of life and people there. Exploring the art of constructing Da Lat's geo-literary region in Nguyen Vinh Nguyen's *Memories of Memories*, we find that intertextual space and narrative art play a crucial role in revealing the geographical landscape of Da Lat.
11. Practical applications:
Geocultural studies not only make a significant contribution to the preservation and development of historical, cultural values and regional identity, but also serve as a valuable source of information for urban managers to consider when planning urban development projects that still retain the material and spiritual values of the geographical space.
12. Future research directions:
- A systematic study of geo-literary theory.
- A comparative study between the geographical features of Da Lat as depicted in Nguyen Vinh Nguyen's works and those of other writers who also write about Da Lat.
- Studying the characteristics of the geo-literary structure of other place names in Vietnamese literature.
