10. Summary of thesis results:

According to the research results, some conclusions can be drawn about safe food consumption behavior as follows:

Regarding the current state of food consumption, people currently mainly maintain shopping at markets (managed markets, spontaneous markets) because of the diversity of goods here. Most people tend to choose foods with clear origins, within the best shelf life and pay attention to nutritional content. This demonstrates their concern for the quality of their family's daily meals and their own health. In the development of an economy with convenient trade, the types of food regularly used by each family are still green vegetables, fruits and fresh foods.

There are many factors affecting the consumption behavior of urban people, but personal characteristics such as education level, age, occupation, etc. are not decisive factors because food consumption is a matter close to everyone. Research shows that the majority's awareness is to choose food with clear origin and safety, however, when buying, factors such as convenience, price, personal preferences, etc. still influence their actions. In addition, communication about clean food has not yet played a role in guiding consumption, has not helped them distinguish between types of food, making them lack confidence and knowledge in this field. In the coming time, it is necessary to promote the role of mass media as well as methods of sharing direct experiences to bring high efficiency in disseminating this basic knowledge to people, helping each family's meals become safer and of better quality.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

According to the annual report of the World Health Organization (WHO), there are about 40 million cases of poisoning in the world each year, of which the Asia-Pacific region accounts for 50%. More dangerously, up to 50% of deaths by poisoning are linked to issues of food safety. In developing countries, an estimated one third of the population is affected by diseases caused by unsafe food each year. Diarrhea caused by food and water pollution is reason for approximately 2.2 million deaths a year, most of them are children. Food is a source of essential nutrients for the body, but if food is not safe, it can become a source of disease. At present, unsafe food is a serious social problem, affecting the quality of nutrition and public health.

Based on the results of the study, some conclusions about safe food consumption are as follows:

Regarding the current situation of food consumption, Hanoi people mainly buy foods at the markets (managed or spontaneous markets) because of the flexibility and variety of foods. Most people are more likely to choose the best source of foods, expiration date and the nutritional value. This demonstrates their interest in the quality of family meals and their health. In the development of a commercial-viable economy, the most frequently used foods of every family are green vegetables, fruits and fresh foods.

There are many factors affecting the consumption behavior of urban people, but the factors of individual characteristics such as educational level, age, and occupation are not determinants because consumption of food is related to each person's preferences. Research's results show that most people are aware of the origin and safety of food choices, but when shopping, factors such as convenience, price, personal taste, etc. still dominate their decision-making. In addition, the media on clean foods has not promoted the role of consumption orientation yet to help them distinguish the foods, therefore they lack knowledge of clean food and lack confidence in this field. In the coming time, the role of mass communication and media, as well as direct experience sharing methods, should be promoted to bring high effectiveness in disseminating this basic knowledge to people, making each family meal become more secure and quality.
