10. Summary of the thesis results:
Thesis: The image of healthcare workers in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in online newspapers, consisting of 3 chapters:
- Chapter 1: Theoretical and practical basis for communicating the image of healthcare workers in the prevention and control of COVID-19 on online newspapers.
- Chapter 2: The current state of the image of healthcare workers in the fight against COVID-19 in online newspapers.
- Chapter 3: Issues and recommendations to improve the quality of media coverage of healthcare professionals on online newspapers.
This thesis clarifies some theoretical aspects of communicating the image of healthcare workers in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic on online newspapers; the role of healthcare workers in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic; and the views and orientations of the Party and State on this issue. The author surveys three online newspapers: Health & Life; VietnamPlus - Vietnam News Agency; and VnExpress, regarding their communication of the image of healthcare workers in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Through this, the author assesses the successes and limitations in content and form impacting the public, and identifies issues that need to be addressed. Recommendations and solutions are offered to improve the effectiveness of building communication messages about the image of healthcare workers on online newspapers in the future; promoting proactive, transparent, and directional information dissemination to form positive public opinion and create social consensus for participation in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
11. Practical applications:
Based on research and the media coverage of healthcare workers' roles in the fight against COVID-19 on online news sites, this thesis serves as a reference document connecting leaders of relevant agencies, competent authorities at all levels, specialized agencies, and media outlets to develop synchronized policies, guidelines, and solutions for more engaging and widely publicized portrayal of healthcare workers on online news sites. All levels, sectors, and local governments need to continue paying attention to the healthcare sector and public health care, including policies, incentives, and investment in human resources to build and develop the healthcare sector in the future. Simultaneously, this thesis contributes to improving the quality of information and communication, disseminating knowledge, and thereby raising awareness and changing public behavior in disease prevention and control in general, and COVID-19 prevention and control in particular.

The thesis titled “Depiction of Healthcare Professionals in the COVID-19 Response on Online News Platforms” includes three chapters:

The thesis sheds light on theoretical aspects of communication in depicting healthcare professionals in the COVID-19 response on online news platforms. It explores the roles of healthcare professionals in the COVID-19 response, as well as the perspectives and orientations of the Vietnamese Communist Party and State regarding communication on this issue. The author examined three online newspapers, namely Health & Life, VietnamPlus - Vietnam News Agency, and VnExpress, to examine the information and communication depicting healthcare professionals in the COVID-19 response. Through this survey, the author evaluates the successes and limitations in terms of content and form and the impact on the public. Furthermore, the author raised crucial issues to be resolved. The thesis provides recommendations and solutions to enhance the effectiveness of constructing communication messages depicting healthcare professionals on online news platforms in the coming time. These recommendations emphasize proactive and transparent dissemination of information and the cultivation of constructive public opinion to foster social consensus and active engagement in COVID-19 prevention and control.

Through the research on communication depicting healthcare professionals in the COVID-19 response on online news platforms, this thesis serves as a valuable reference for connecting leaders of relevant government agencies, authorities at different levels, specialized organizations, and the media.
