10. Summary of the thesis results:
This thesis is based on hermeneutic theory, semiotics and intersemiotics, cultural semiotics, and symbolic interaction theory to decode and compare hermeneutic methods and the application of semiotics in artistic creation. From there, it clarifies the cultural and intersemiotic elements that appear and interact with each other in the intertextual system of the tragedy of Macbeth, specifically in the case of the dramatic text and the two films: Macbeth (2025) and The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021).
Through a comparative analysis of intertextual structures, we have a basis for understanding intertextual interpretation in the symbolic social interactions of the character system, revealing the power of mythical interpretations and supernatural connections, as well as the power of socio-cultural interactions. We also clarify the issue of power through artistic expressions using a cultural semiotic approach in cinematic language. Through the research process, we see the power of visual representation in relation to intersymbolism in collective memory, especially the paradoxical and romantic aspects in the expression of mythical codes. We also recognize the power of mythical codes in cinematic language in expressing the issue of power. From this, we see the connection between symbolic links and the origins of visual art symbolism. This element, blended with collective memory, forms a unique power in establishing a system of signs in cinematic language and intertextual signs.
11. Practical applications:
This study explores the issue of power as expressed in the play and two film adaptations, using a cultural studies approach to decipher the artistic and humanistic values expressed through the lens of cinema, based on symbols and inter-symbols. Through this, it compares and clarifies the value of a classic work – through the creative styles and professional expertise of the directors, with their distinct cultural, social, and artistic perspectives – as interpreted from the play to the film. The research findings can be applied to understanding hermeneutics and deciphering intertextual and multimedia semiotics.
12. Further research directions: Multimedia cultural semiotics, intertextual interpretation, intertextual reception…
13. Published works related to the thesis: None.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
The thesis is based on the theory of hermeneutic, semiotic and inter-semiotics, cultural semiotics and symbolic interaction theory to decode, compare hermeneutic methods and apply semiotics in artistic creation. Based on those findings, we clarify the cultural and inter-semiotic elements that appear and interact with each other in the inter-textual system of the play Macbeth, specifically in the case of the original text and two films: Macbeth (2025) and The tragedy of Macbeth (2021).
From comparing the intertextual structure, we conclude a basis of understanding intertextuality by studying the symbolic social interactions of the character system, showing the power of cultural-social interaction. We also clarify the issue of power through artistic interpretation by approaching cultural semiotics in cinematic language. Through the research process, we can see the power of image creation in relation to inter-symbolism in collective memory, especially the grotesque and romantic characteristics of character design, in order to express mythical codes. We also recognize the power of mythical codes in cinematic language in expressing power. From these findings, we see the connection based on the symbolism of visual art. This element blends with collective memory to create a unique power in establishing a system of symbols in cinematic language and intertextuality.
12. Practical applicability, if any:
The topic explores the issue of power expressed in original text of the play and two films, using a cultural approach to decode the artistic and humanistic values, based on semiotics and inter-semiotics theory. Comparing and clarifying the value of a classic play - transfers through the creative and film styles of two directors with different cultural, social and artistic creative perspectives - is interpreted from original play to the art of cinema. The results of the research can be applied to study more about hermeneutics from plays to films and decoding intertextuality and multimedia semiotics.
