10. Summary of the thesis results:

The Hmong people are an ethnic group whose main habitat is in the high mountainous regions along the northern border of Vietnam. Therefore, this community plays a crucial role in ensuring border security in the North. The spiritual and material well-being of the Hmong community is a matter of great concern, especially given the surge in conversions to Protestantism among the Hmong community from the 1980s to the present.

This thesis explores the influence of Protestantism on cultural changes among the Hmong ethnic group, as manifested through several rituals in traditional Hmong communities and Hmong communities practicing Protestantism in six provinces of Northwest Vietnam.

Chapter I of the thesis points out the distinctive features of the traditional culture of the Hmong ethnic group, the process of penetration and the reasons for the strong development of Protestantism in the Hmong community.

Chapter II of the thesis examines the changes in the practice of certain rituals between the traditional Hmong community and the Protestant Hmong community and evaluates these changes.

11. Practical applications:

This thesis provides several arguments to serve as a basis for management staff at all levels and sectors within the political system to advise and propose policies and solutions regarding religious affairs, particularly concerning Protestantism in general, the preservation and promotion of traditional Hmong cultural values, and how to deal with new cultural elements. Furthermore, the thesis can serve as a reference for research and teaching on matters related to Protestantism in research and training institutions.

12. Future research directions:

Further research into Protestantism within the Hmong community in Vietnam is needed.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

Expect peoples residents mainly in mountainous areas along the northern border of our country, so this community is an important factor contributing to securing of northern border. The Mong peoples life is needed to pay attention, especially the booming trend of conversion to Protestantism in this community since the 1980s.

The thesis has focused on studying the influence of Protestant on changing Mong' culture through some rituals. This thesis studied on traditional Mong community and Mong Protestants Community in six north-western provinces of our country

In chapter I, the thesis points out the features of the traditional culture of Mong, the penetration and the cause of the strong development of Protestant in Mong community.

In Chapter II, the thesis has examined the changing in the practice of some rituals between traditional Mong community and Mong Protestants community and assessed about this changing.

11. Practical applicability, if any:

This thesis is useful for management staff of the political system to propose policies on religious affairs for Protestants, promote Mong traditional culture values ​​and the way to deal with new cultural elements. In addition, the essay may be used as a reference materials for research and teaching.

Making further and more comprehensive research on the Protestant-Mong peoples in Vietnam.
