The thesis has achieved the following results:

- In terms of theory: The thesis has systematized and clarified the concept of non-governmental organizations, the concept and characteristics of financial autonomy of non-governmental organizations, and at the same time provided criteria for assessing the financial autonomy capacity of this type of organization.

- In terms of practice: The thesis has assessed the financial autonomy of SOS Children's Villages Vietnam - a member of the SOS Children's Villages International Association - a non-governmental organization operating in the field of care and education for children in difficult circumstances. Then, using SWOT analysis to see a panoramic picture of SOS Children's Villages Vietnam in the current context, the thesis has proposed effective solutions to help SOS Children's Villages Vietnam promote its strengths, take advantage of opportunities, minimize weaknesses and cope with internal and external challenges to improve its financial autonomy in the coming time, meeting the objective requirements of the times and of the SOS International Association.

11. Practical application:

The research results of the thesis can be used as a reference source for SOS Children's Villages Vietnam in the process of providing solutions to improve self-reliance capacity from now until 2020.

12. Further research directions:

- A more comprehensive study on the Financial Self-Reliance Capacity of NGOs in both aspects: fund raising and management.
