The thesis has achieved the following results:

- In terms of theory: The thesis has systematized and clarified the conceptual content of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the concept and characteristics of financial autonomy of NGOs, and has also provided indicators for evaluating the financial autonomy capacity of this type of organization.

- In practical terms: The thesis assessed the financial autonomy of SOS Children's Villages Vietnam – a member of the SOS Children's Villages International Association – a non-governmental organization operating in the field of care and education for disadvantaged children. Then, through a SWOT analysis to gain a comprehensive overview of SOS Children's Villages Vietnam in the current context, the thesis proposed effective solutions to help SOS Children's Villages Vietnam leverage its strengths, seize opportunities, minimize weaknesses, and confront internal and external challenges to enhance its financial autonomy in the future, meeting the objective requirements of the times and the SOS Children's Villages International Association.

11. Practical applications:

The research findings of this thesis can be used as a reference source for SOS Children's Villages Vietnam in developing solutions aimed at enhancing their self-reliance from now until 2020.

12. Future research directions:

- A more comprehensive study of the financial autonomy of non-governmental organizations in both aspects: fund generation and fund management.

- Regarding to the realities: The thesis successfully evaluates the capacity of financial autonomy of SOS Childrens' Villages Vietnam – the branch of SOS Childrens' Villages International – an NGOs working with the disadvantaged children.
