This study assesses the current state of traditional folk music appreciation among students in Hanoi, as well as the preservation of their traditional folk music. Currently, traditional folk music forms are declining over time. Students are only familiar with popular forms such as Quan Ho and Cheo, while other forms are little known, especially among students from cultural, social science, and economics schools – institutions specializing in social sciences and culture. Nevertheless, students highly value the importance of preserving folk music art forms, believing that this preservation requires special investment and education to foster a greater love and appreciation for their nation's rich traditions.
