Firstly, the study has systematized the theory of tourism and tourist destinations and routes; and selected a system of indicators for developing tourist destinations and routes to apply to Dong Thap province.

Secondly, the topic has provided an overview of the conditions for tourism development; analyzed and evaluated the current state of tourism exploitation in general, as well as specific tourist destinations and routes in Dong Thap in recent times. Based on that, the author analyzes the causes and proposes solutions to the research problem.

Thirdly, the study has developed tourist destinations and routes in Dong Thap in the new phase based on criteria for developing tourist destinations and routes combined with a scoring method.

Fourth, the topic proposes solutions to effectively exploit tourist destinations and routes in Dong Thap.

1. Practical applications:

Developing tourist destinations and routes is one of the important requirements in the planning and implementation of the overall tourism territorial organization plan of the province and region. Therefore, the analyses, assessments, results, and solutions regarding the development of tourist destinations and routes presented in this study are very necessary; in other words, this is a topic with high practical applicability and can be flexibly applied to the different conditions of each locality.

Based on the analysis of various indicators, the study has developed a system of potential tourist destinations and routes within Dong Thap province. With these results, the study will be more effectively applied in practice through the development of intra-provincial and inter-provincial tourism programs, significantly contributing to the development of tourism in the province.

Therefore, the analysis, the evaluation, the outcome and the measures for the establishment of these tourist sites and tours given by the topic are essential; In other words, this is a highly applicable topic in practice and it can be applied flexibly in different conditions of each locality..

On the basis of the criteria analysis, the topic has built a system of tourist sites of exploitable tours in the province of Dong Thap. With this result, the topic will be a more effective application in practice through the programs that build the domestic and inter-provincial tourism, thus contributing significantly to the development of the province's tourism.
