The thesis studies the art of narrative short stories by Bao Ninh in the following aspects: narrator and narrative point of view; character and narrative plot; narrative space and time. Through each of the above aspects, Bao Ninh demonstrates his talent and new creations in the art of narrative, which is the combination and displacement of types of narrators and narrative points of view; the way of building characters and narrative plot; the way of building blurred, non-linear narrative space and time associated with the character's psychology.
Bao Ninh's creations in the aspect of short story narrative aim to reflect the reality of life, human destiny in the flow of history, the world of human souls and the obsessions and nostalgia of the past. Moreover, Bao Ninh's short stories are the voice of people who are searching for the value and meaning of life. Through the elements examined in Bao Ninh's short stories, we see that Bao Ninh is a writer with a flexible, unique and impressive way of storytelling. It can be affirmed that Bao Ninh is a typical and outstanding writer of modern Vietnamese literature.

The thesis studies narrative art in the short stories of Bao Ninh in terms of: narrators and narrative points of view, narrative characters and plots, narrative spaces and times. Through each of the above aspects, short stories of Bao Ninh expresses his talent and creations about narrative art, which are the combinations and movements of the narrators and narrative points of view, the art of building narrative characters and plots, building faded narrative spaces and times. The spaces and times are non - linear and tightly associated with the psychology of the characters.
In the field of narrative art in the short stories, the Bao Ninh's creations aim to reflect the reality of life, human destiny in the flow of history, when man haunted by hidden unconscious memories of the past. Moreover, the short stories of Bao Ninh also express the voice of people who are going to find value and meaning to their lives. Through the factors which are carefully analyzed in the short stories of Bao Ninh, we finally realize that Bao Ninh is a great writer who owns a flexible, special and impressive ability of narration.
