Scientific Advisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Khanh Ha 10. Summary of thesis results: Based on the theoretical and practical research process on self-assessment and self-evaluation of students at To Hieu High School, Thuong Tin District, Hanoi, we draw the following conclusions: - Regarding theoretical research: + The thesis has developed a system of conceptual tools for the topic: Self-assessment; High school students; Self-assessment of high school students; Some factors affecting self-assessment of high school students… + The thesis shows that self-assessment of high school students has a dialectical relationship with other social factors. These include direct and indirect factors such as: Family education, school education, peer groups. Emphasis is placed on the relationship between family education and parental behavior regarding students' self-assessment. - Regarding practical research: + Testing the results of the ETES test and its reliability shows that students have an average level of self-assessment. Students' initial self-assessment levels were lower than those measured on the ETES scale. The majority of students' self-assessments aligned with their parents' and teachers' assessments, with a higher degree of alignment between students' self-assessments and parents' assessments compared to those of teachers, as observed across the studied areas. However, a certain percentage of students had self-assessments that did not align with both teacher and parent assessments. Students' self-assessments were uneven across different areas, with higher scores for social interaction, future orientation, and physical appearance. Academic self-assessments were lower, near average, with most students dissatisfied with their school results, but students highly rated statements regarding the student-teacher relationship. Comparing the self-assessment levels of male and female students reveals that male students have higher self-assessments than female students in terms of physical fitness. Meanwhile, there are significant differences between males and females in social interaction, academic performance, and future orientation; generally, females have higher self-assessments than males in these three areas. + Self-assessment levels vary across grade levels; 11th-grade students have lower self-assessments than 10th and 12th-grade students in the assessed areas, with 12th-grade students having the highest self-assessments. + Regarding self-assessment levels between advanced and regular classes: there is no difference in communication between students in advanced and regular classes. However, there are significant differences in other self-assessment areas; generally, students in advanced classes have higher self-assessments than regular students in terms of physical fitness, academic performance, and future orientation. + Regarding the role of parents in relation to their children: Consistency in parenting and parental behavior plays a crucial role in children's self-assessment. Children have a high level of self-assessment when their parents show positive and caring behavior, and conversely, children have a low level of self-assessment when their parents show little care or have a negative and critical approach. In short, the research results have proven the hypothesis we stated at the beginning to be correct. 11. Practical application: Self-assessment plays an important role in the development and perfection of students' personalities. Therefore, the research results of this study help students develop more appropriate self-assessments. Moreover, the results of this thesis can be applied to high schools in general to help students accurately assess their own abilities, build confidence in their assessments, and create favorable conditions for entering the next stage of development. 12. Future research directions: In the future, we will continue our research in the following directions: - Expanding the research to cover the entire city. - Further research into the relationship between self-assessment aspects in the ETES scale, and a control group between students in rural and urban areas. 13. Summary of the findings of the thesis: General process of theoretical and practical research about self-assessment of students at To Hieu High School, Thuong Tin district, Ha Noi, we propose some preliminary following conclusions: - About theoretical research + Thesis has developed a conceptual system of project tools: Self-assessment; High school students, Self-assessment of high school students; Some of factors affecting self-assessment of high school students… + Thesis indicates that self-assessment of high school students has dialectical relationship with other direct and indirect social factors such as family education, school education, friend groups. In particular, it focuses on the relationship between family education, parental behaviors for the student self-assessment. - About practical research: + ETES testing results and its reliability show that student self-assessment is at average level. The initial self-assessment level of those students is lower than the self-assessment level measured in ETES scale. Most of student self-assessment is in accordance with the assessment of parents and teachers, in which the relevance between the student self-assessment and parental assessment is higher than the relevance between the student self-assessment and their teachers' assessment, shown in statistics under the study. Besides, there also has a certain percentage of student self-assessment that is not inconsistent with the teachers' assessment and evaluation of the parents. + Student self-assessment is not unified in every aspect, in which students rated higher on social communications, future-oriented and physical appearance. Self-assessment of learning is lower, near average. Most of them are not satisfied with academic results at school, but the students appreciate the propositions on the relationship between students and teachers. Comparing the level of male and female student self-assessment shows that boys have higher self-assessment than girls in terms of physical subject. In the mean while, there are certain differences between men and women in social communications, academic and future-oriented. In general, women rated higher than men in these 3 aspects. + The level of self-assessment also varies on grades. 11th-grade- students' self-assessment is lower than students in 10th and 12th grades in terms of every aspect, in which 12th grade students have the highest self-evaluation level. + Self-assessment of selected and regular classes: there is no difference in communication between students in selected classes and regular classes. However, in other aspects of self-assessment, there are obvious differences. Generally, selected students have higher self-assessment level than regular students in terms of physical aspect, their study, and future orientation. + The role of parents to children: The unity of educating their children and their parents behave with their children played an important role for self-assessment's students. Students have higher levels of self-assessment when parents have behaviors to positive and vice versa, they have low self-assessment when parents paid little attention or critical negative behavior. In short, the result of the research has proven the theory that we have stated from the beginning is right. 12. Practical applicability, if any: Self-assessment has an important role for the development and completion of a student. Therefore, as a result of the research study, students have more appropriate self-assessment. Furthermore, the results of the thesis may also apply to the general high schools in the area to help them appreciate the power itself, since it removes a self-deprecating, they have the confidence to personality development. 13. Further research directions, if any: In future research we continue to follow the following directions: - Expand research throughout the city. - Further research on the relationship between the self-assessment in ETES scale, and identifying students in rural and urban areas. 14.
