Summary of the results of the thesis: The study analyzes the process of US aid to the Republic of Vietnam in the period 1965-1975 from objectives, policies to types, thereby drawing out the nature of US aid. On that basis, the thesis goes into studying the impacts of US aid on the economy of Saigon in this period on both positive and negative aspects. Many documents published in the study are exploited from archives and foreign language monographs. Most of them are research reports and data of the US government as well as the Republic of Vietnam and South Vietnamese researchers, which have not been mentioned much in previous studies. 11. Practical applicability: The results of the study can be applied in the recognition, evaluation and management of foreign aid as well as its role and impact on the overall economy and national autonomy. 12. Base on which we show the nature of US aid. On that basis, the thesis seeks to figure out the effects of US aid to the Saigon's economy during this period on both the positive and negative sides. Many materials in our thesis come from the archives and monographs in foreign languages. Most of them are research reports which belong to the administration of the Republic of Vietnam, have not been mentioned much in the previous study. 12.
