Summary of the thesis results: This study analyzes the process of US aid to the Republic of Vietnam during the period 1965-1975, from objectives and policies to types of aid, thereby deriving the essence of US aid. Based on this, the thesis explores the effects of US aid on the Saigon economy during this period, both positive and negative. Much of the material published in the study is sourced from archives and foreign-language monographs. A large portion consists of research reports and data from the US government, the Republic of Vietnam, and researchers from South Vietnam, which have not been extensively discussed in previous studies. 11. Many materials in our thesis come from the archives and monographs in foreign languages. Most of them are research reports which belong to the administration of the Republic of Vietnam, have not been mentioned much in the previous study. 12.
