Summary of thesis results: (Summarize the thesis results, emphasizing new results if any) Economic growth and social equity are two goals that every country in the world always strives for in order to create stable and sustainable development. In reality, economic growth is a necessary condition for achieving social equity (or social welfare); conversely, social equity creates a stable social environment, creating conditions for economic growth. The issue of economic growth linked to social equity is a trend and an important basis for creating sustainable development. South Korea's experience from the 1970s to the present shows that the secret to becoming an "Asian Dragon" lies in the combination of these two factors. The successful experiences of South Korea will help our country effectively implement the process of industrialization and modernization in general, and achieve economic growth with social equity in particular. This is also the purpose and content of this master's thesis. Based on that research purpose, the thesis has achieved the following results: - In terms of content: + Overview of some theoretical foundations of economic growth and social welfare. + Overview and analysis of the results achieved regarding the impact of economic growth on social welfare in South Korea; assessment of the impact of the relationship between these two goals on the successful development of the South Korean economy, especially from the economic crisis of 1997 to 2010. + Based on that, some lessons learned have been drawn and applied to the socio-economic development process in our country, especially lessons on addressing issues of social equity and social security. + In addition, the thesis also proposes some solutions to improve the effectiveness of economic growth and social equity in Vietnam. - Regarding the new contributions of the thesis: + Systematizing documents related to the topic. + Based on the analysis and evaluation of the impacts of economic growth on the implementation of social welfare in South Korea across various aspects of social life, the thesis draws some lessons learned for the implementation of economic growth and social equity in Vietnam today. 11. Practical application: (if any) With the aim of studying the close and harmonious combination of economic growth and social welfare implementation, especially the effective and positive impacts of economic growth on the implementation of social welfare goals and policies in South Korea, in order to provide connections and some lessons learned that Vietnam can refer to in the process of implementing economic growth coupled with social equity and social security today; The thesis has presented several specific lessons learned based on the successful policies implemented by South Korea. It is hoped that these lessons can be applied in Vietnam, such as: the lesson of focusing on building a new rural movement to reduce the gap between rural and urban areas; the lesson of state intervention and regulation in implementing social security policies and the socialization of social security; the lesson of investing in the construction of social housing for low-income groups… 12. Further research directions: (if any) Due to limited knowledge and research time, and within the scope of a master's thesis, it is impossible to thoroughly and fully address all issues. Therefore, this thesis mainly studies and addresses the impact of economic growth on social welfare in South Korea during the period from 1997 to 2010 – the period after the global economic crisis – without evaluating the reverse. Therefore, if further research and development is possible, the thesis will follow this direction: - Upgrading the topic to a doctoral research topic. - Conducting a deeper theoretical analysis; based on the analysis and evaluation of the current situation regarding the harmonious relationship between economic growth and social welfare in South Korea, quantifying and building a model applicable to Vietnam. 13.
