CHAPTER 3. DEVELOPING STANDARDS FOR SELECTING ARCHIVED DOCUMENTS THAT NEED INSURANCE
The main content in Chapter 3 is the research to develop a set of standards for selecting archival documents that need insurance. To develop a set of standards, we identify and analyze cases of insurance purposes in practice. After researching and developing a set of standards for selecting archival documents that need insurance, closely following three different purposes of document insurance, we propose a process for selecting documents that need insurance, and insurance methods suitable for each different purpose of document insurance. In order for the set of standards to be applied in practice conveniently and effectively, we propose solutions for levels and units managing the archives industry as well as for agencies directly applying the standards. With synchronous measures, we believe that the standards for selecting archival documents that need insurance will be highly feasible in practical application.
11. Practical application:
The criteria for selecting archival documents that need insurance are highly applicable in practice because at present, many local historical archives and current archives are looking for methods of document insurance for different purposes. The set of standards will help historical archives identify documents that need insurance quickly and accurately.
