Summary of the results of the thesis: The thesis studies the self-confession factor in the structure of the novel Thao Thuc by Russian writer Aleksandr Kron. Considering self-confession as a key category to explore the artistic world of the work, through survey and analysis, the thesis has explained the characteristics and roles of the self-confession factor in the novel Thao Thuc. From there, the thesis also points out the characteristics of A.Kron's artistic thinking in relation to the philosophical style trend in Russian prose in the 60s-80s of the 20th century. The basis for the existence of the self-confession factor in Thao Thuc is in the historical-social conditions of the Soviet Union in the second half of the 20th century and the tradition of promoting ethics in the spirit of Christianity in Russian literature. Applying the method of narrative research, the thesis has analyzed the forms of expression of the self-confession factor at the levels: narrator, narrative viewpoint, space-time, and tone. The meaning of the ideological content that the author wants to express through those narrative levels is the messages about love, friendship, the writer's philosophies about life and happiness, especially the writer's views on the issue of moral qualities of scientists, positioning intellectuals in the new era. The participation of the confessional element also contributes to attracting readers to the concerns and thoughts about the core spiritual values ​​of life in this novel. Thao Thuc is a novel with a prominent position in the philosophical prose stream written about everyday life of Russian literature in the 60s-80s of the 20th century. 11. Despite unattractive plot, the novel is appreciated for its valuable content and original manifestation. “Insomnia” deserves to be a typical prose work on behalf of Russian literature on productions during the period from the 60s to 80s of the 20th century. 12.
