Summary of Thesis Results: Magical Realism and Latin American literature are relatively new literary fields for Vietnamese literary research. When discussing magical realism, one cannot ignore the name of the greatest storyteller in Latin America – Gabriel García Márquez, whose novel *One Hundred Years of Solitude* won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1982. Despite the practical difficulties in terms of documentation and research methods in Latin American literature, our study of "Mythical Time and Space in Gabriel García Márquez's *One Hundred Years of Solitude*" has yielded the following notable results: Firstly, the thesis provides a comprehensive and fairly complete overview of the characteristics of Latin American literature and magical realism. From this, we propose promising research directions when approaching works in this literary genre. Secondly, the thesis studies in detail the mythical time and space in Gabriel García Márquez's *One Hundred Years of Solitude*. Time is ethereal, not following a linear pattern, and is recreated through various levels of time: order, flow, frequency; along with the phenomenon of foreshadowing. Space is imbued with a magical, ethereal quality. With the strange transformations of nature, the author takes the reader to fantastical lands. The mythical space-time plays a crucial role in conveying the message of peace and human solidarity – the dark side of loneliness. Finally, based on the application of mythological criticism and poetics to study this work, we propose research directions for works belonging to the magical realism literary trend and the potential for application and expansion of the topic. 11. Practical applications: In the field of research: Overcoming difficulties in accessing a relatively new area for Vietnam: Latin American literature and magical realism. Simultaneously, opening up new research areas on myth. In teaching: Applying it to teaching the Western and Latin American Literature course at the university level. 12. Further research directions: - Mythical characters in Márquez's works. - The original model in Márquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude. - Myths in Latin American literature. 13. Published works related to the thesis: Original examples in Xuan Quynh's "Waves," Teaching and Learning Journal, No. 3/2010, Hanoi Pedagogical University.
