10. Summary of thesis results:

"The concept of authorship is a crucial moment in the process of individualization in the history of thought, knowledge, literature, as well as in the history of philosophy and science." The emergence of authorship theory affirmed the central creative role of the director. Through their cinematic works, directors express their perspectives, viewpoints, and feelings about the multifaceted issues of life.

Examining Chinese cinema from an auteur stylistic perspective, specifically through the lens of a distinctive director like Lou Ye, allows us to gain insight into the overall dynamics of the inevitable shifts in cinematic history and discover the unique characteristics and beauty of a local culture.

Studying this filmmaker's work from an auteuristic perspective to identify stylistic similarities is a necessary and timely research direction for recognizing and affirming the artist's creative efforts in innovation and exploration, both in terms of content and technique, shaping a unique style distinct from other filmmakers. Lou Ye, as a director of the sixth generation in China, has enriched the national film industry with a fresh and impressive color, representing a small, individual micro-history alongside the cinema of grand stories and "grand narratives." The "minor cinema" genre chosen by Lou Ye is a dialogue with the mainstream film trend; it is a genre that lies outside the established categories and conventional systems of genre and style. It stands in opposition to the majority, to orthodoxy, and to tradition, which is full of magnificent but fixed, rigid, and cumbersome archetypes. "Nothing is essential or revolutionary except the minor/secondary"; it means "hating all the languages of the masters," and "being a foreigner in one's own language."

11. Practical applications:

The thesis serves as a resource for students researching literature and film, and interdisciplinary subjects such as authorship theory, poetics, psychology, narrative theory, etc.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

“Nevertheless, as a privileged moment of individualization in the history of ideas, knowledge, and literature, or in the history of philosophy and science, the question of the author demands a more direct response.” The birth of the auteur theory has maintained the major creative force of the director. The director has expressed his point-of-views, his feeling about the multi-faceted life through his films.

Considering Chinese cinema from auteur theory perspective, Lou Ye – a personal filmmaker in particular, we can see partly the overview, the indispensible switch in history of cinema, to discover the specialty, the beauty of a local culture.

This auteur study of Lou's style in which find similarities in style, is a necessary and timely research direction to identify and maintain creative efforts of the artist in innovation, exploring both the content and the technology shaping a style separates from other filmmakers. Lou as a director of China's Sixth Generation filmmakers has enriched his own country's cinema with a new color, impressive as the existence of a micro-history - tiny individual with the cinema of the big stories, the “great narrative”. The minor cinema that Lou has chosen is the dialogue with the mainstream cinema, which is the line that falls outside the categories and systems of classic genre and style. It is in opposition to the majority, with various magnificent patterns but stable, rigid and severe traditions. “There is nothing that is major or revolutionary except the minor. To hate all languages of masters [...] To be sort of foreigners within his own language.”
