The history of the Lao PDR from 1975 to 2015 is a history that reflects the struggle for the cause of protecting and building an independent and democratic country under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and is consistent with the increasingly improved level of people's intelligence. Therefore, researching the topic "History of the Lao PDR from 1975 to 2015" as a master's thesis is extremely necessary in both theoretical and practical aspects, in order to draw necessary lessons, on that basis to further foster the will to strive, and to train the courage to act in the new era.

Based on the study of some theoretical issues on the history of historiography, the thesis clarifies the concept of history, the history of historiography, the significance of the history of historiography; systematically and fully analyzes the research trends of Lao history and brief history in each period, laying the foundation for the study of the following issues of the topic. The thesis also analyzes the process of forming research and training organizations and the domestic and international circumstances that have had impacts on the history of Lao historiography in the period from 1975 to 2015 and presents typical historical works in the history of Lao historiography in the period from 1975 to 2015, which are historical works written on Lao history; world and regional history by Lao historians.
