The thesis consists of 3 chapters with the following basic contents:
Chapter 1. Overview of the theory of determining the value of documents in Vietnam
The content of Chapter 1 mainly deals with the research results on value determination in Vietnam, presented in terms of quantity, type, author, research method, reference sources used by the works, especially the results on content.
Chapter 2. Practical application of theory to determine document value at provincial archives
This chapter presents the current status of applying the theory of value determination in the following aspects: promulgating regulatory documents, tools for guiding value determination and in the actual organization of value determination in agencies, organizations and provincial archives. Thereby, assessing the achievements, limitations and shortcomings in the application process, this is the basis for the author to present theoretical issues that need to be researched on value determination in the coming time mentioned in Chapter 3.
Chapter 3. Issues that need to be studied to improve the effectiveness of applying the theory of determining document value in provincial archives
This is also the main objective of the topic. This chapter focuses on presenting the theoretical gaps in the management of archives in Vietnam, including theoretical issues that have not been unified and need to be clarified, new issues that need to be researched; at the same time, the author also proposes some opinions on research activities as well as archive management activities from the central to local levels.
11. Practical application:
The research results of the thesis are useful reference documents, helping scientists and readers interested in this issue have an overview, saving time and effort in collecting documents; at the same time, it is the basis for scientists to continue researching, clarifying and supplementing issues that have not been mentioned, in order to fill gaps in the research. In addition, this is also a reference document for competent agencies to develop solutions to improve the efficiency of archiving work in localities.
12. Further research directions:
After completing the thesis, we will continue to study some theoretical issues of determining the value of documents that have not been mentioned and that we have proposed in the thesis.

The Master thesis consists of 3 chapters as below:
Chapter 1: Overview of appraising archival documents in Vietnam
Content of chapter 1 mainly refers to the results of research on evaluation of documents in Vietnam including quantity, type of researches, authors, research methods, sources of reference, especially the content of those researches.
Chapter 2: The application of appraisal theory in the provincial archives
This chapter presents the cases of moving appraisal theory into practice: promulgation of legal documents, tools for appraisal guide and the implementation of appraising documents in the provincial agencies, organizations and archives in practice. Then, we assess the achievements and limitations, disadvantages in the process of application which is the basis for the author to present the issues for further researches about evaluation of documents mentioned in Chapter 3.
Chapter 3. Issues for further researches to improve the effectiveness of the application of appraisal theory in the provincial archives
This is the main objective that the topic is aimed at. In this chapter, the author concentrates on the gaps of appraisal theories in Vietnam, including inconsistent theoretical issues that need to be clarified, new issues to be explored; At the same time, the author also proposed some ideas for research activities as well as the management of archives from the central to local levels.
11. Possibility of application in practice:
Results of this Master thesis research is a useful reference for researchers and readers, who concern this topic to have an overall of evaluation in archives, save time and efforts in collecting information. The results also encourage scientists to continue to clarify and contribute more unmentioned problems to fill up the gaps in research. In addition, this is a reference for researchers to develop solutions to improve the local archives in general.
12. Future work:
After finishing this thesis, the author will continue to research and contribute to solve problems in arguments of appraisal documents, which have been discussed and proposed in the thesis.
