For a long time, researchers and the public believed that the director was the one who was ultimately responsible for the genre, style and meaning of the film, so the identification of the author was focused only on the director. This is one of the most influential views in the history of contemporary cinema, and at the same time a rut, when denying the role of other key individuals. With Emmanuel Lubezki, although recognized by experts, no one has pointed out the unity of style, aesthetic consistency, and identity that are also the expression of an author.
Firstly, the thesis systematizes the concepts of author and film author style; studies the works of Emmanuel Lubezki. From there, it points out the consistency in creation and formation of filming style.
Second, analyze the system of shots in the films Children of Men, Gravity (Alfonso Cuarón) and The Revenant (Alejandro González Iñárritu) to see common denominators in terms of form of expression and ideas about shot length.
Third, analyze the filming style as a system of cinematic language, through analyzing specific elements such as: filming, lighting, setting, and point of view.
