Systematizing some theoretical issues regarding rural tourism, developing rural tourism in conjunction with preserving and promoting the benefits of local communities.

This study involves researching and surveying the actual activities of rural tourism at several research sites (Van Thanh flower village, Ha Dong flower village, Thai Phien flower village, Xuan Thanh flower village, etc.) in order to propose solutions for developing rural tourism in the Da Lat area.

Proposing directions and solutions for the development of rural tourism in the study area.

11. Practical applications:

- This thesis suggests several solutions to help tourism management agencies in Lam Dong consider the possibility of applying the proposed model in practice, in order to develop rural tourism in the Da Lat area in particular and other locations with the potential and conditions for rural tourism development in Lam Dong in general.

- This thesis can serve as a reference for tourism students, as well as tourism businesses and tourism management agencies.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

The thesis has summarized basic theories on rural tourism, such as notions, characters, principles and the role of developing rural tourism in Vietnam. Based on the results of surveying and evaluating tourism resources and typical tourism models of some flower villages (eg Van Thanh, Ha Dong, Thai Phien, Xuan Thanh, etc.), the thesis has overviewed and clarified current situations of rural tourism activities in the boundary of Da Lat and its potentials for development. Finally, the thesis has suggested some general solutions, as well as specific measures, to sustainably develop rural tourism with the preservation and promotion for the interest of local communities at the research area.

The thesis suggested rural tourism management models (especially for flower villages) that hopefully can be applied by the state tourism agency of Lam Dong Province. Futhermore, this thesis can be used as a good reference for students, graduates and learners interested in tourism and rural tourism.
