To increase the objective perspective, the author conducted a survey, collected opinions from 300 people in Ho Chi Minh City as well as had many in-depth interviews with the Board of Directors of the News Center, reporters, editors of the News Center and technicians of the Technical Management Board at the Station.
Through research and surveys, the author found that television products, specifically television journalism products, have been fully, promptly and accurately informed to the audience by HTV. The process of producing news and articles has also been standardized and synchronized from input to output. HTV has also launched information channels on social networks such as Youtube and Facebook to reach the public more closely. In particular, in the past 5 years, the News Center has used many new technologies in the recording and live broadcasting process to help the 20 o'clock News Program become more vivid and attract viewers. During the Covid-19 outbreak in Ho Chi Minh City, with many modern techniques, HTV's news programs still regularly broadcast 7 news bulletins every day, promptly recording all aspects of social life as well as completing their political tasks.
The survey also shows the shortcomings and limitations in the production of television journalism products of Ho Chi Minh City Television, especially in the current context of digital media. Within the framework of the thesis, the author has proposed a number of specific solutions and recommendations for relevant agencies to further improve the effectiveness of information and communication of the 20-hour News Program.
