10. Summary of thesis results:

The thesis has clarified the basis for the formation of the US Indo-Pacific Strategy. Specifically: It has outlined the birth and development of the Indo-Pacific Strategy, clearly indicating the endogenous and exogenous factors that have influenced the formation of the Strategy. In particular, the thesis has relatively clearly pointed out the strategic goals, basic content of the strategy and measures to implement the US Indo-Pacific Strategy, the reactions and approaches of a number of countries; as well as the impact of the strategy on the region and Vietnam; and given some recommendations for Vietnam.

The thesis has contributed to clarifying the current situation of major country relations in the region and internationally, especially the trend of strategic competition promoted by the US and China, clearly demonstrated through the US Indo-Pacific Strategy and China's "One Belt, One Road" Initiative. At the same time, it clarifies the interests and purposes of each country in the "Quad" and some countries in the Indo-Pacific region. It is worth noting that the Indo-Pacific strategy is still in the process of implementation and has not been completed. However, it can be clearly seen that the US's strategic goal is to affirm its position in the region, contain China and attract as many countries as possible to participate in this US strategy. Thus, whether they like it or not, countries in the region will still be affected by the US Indo-Pacific strategy, especially in the context of fierce competition with China's "One Belt, One Road" strategy.

The thesis also comprehensively assessed the US Indo-Pacific Strategy in the process of formation and implementation in the early stages; pointed out the goals, contents, and measures to implement the US strategy, as well as the views and reactions of a number of relevant countries in the region; at the same time, clarified the impact of the Strategy on the region and Vietnam; and made recommendations for Vietnam in the coming time.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

The thesis has clarified the basis on which the US's Indian-Pacific Strategy is established. More specifically, the thesis briefly introduces the source and evolution of the Indo-Pacific Strategy, and points out the endogenous and exogenous factors affecting the formation of the Strategy. The strategic objectives, basic contents and approach to implementing the strategy are also presented in a clear manner. Besides, the reactions and approaches of some countries to the strategy, as well as the impacts of the strategy on the region and Vietnam are mentioned. Finally, some recommendations for Vietnam are also given in this thesis.

The thesis makes a contribution to clarifying the reality of major - power ties on a regional and global scale, especially, the trend toward strategic competition driven by the US and China with the Indo-Pacific Strategy and the “One Belt, One Road” Initiative respectively. At the same time, the thesis points out the benefits and objectives of countries in “Big Four” as well as others relevant in the Indo-Pacific region. It should be kept in mind that the Indo – Pacific Strategy is still underway, not on the way to concluding soon. However, it is clear to see the US's strategic goal is to assert its position in the region, restrain China and lure as many countries as possible into the plan. Thus, countries in the region, like it or not, are likely to be impacted by the Indo-Pacific Strategy given its fierce contest with China's “One Belt, One Road” Initiative.

The thesis also gives a comprehensive evaluation of the US's Indo-Pacific Strategy, which is currently under construction and maiden implementation; points out the objectives, contents, implementing method, as well as the attitudes and responses of some relevant countries in the region to the strategy. Moreover, the impacts of the strategy on the region and Viet Nam and recommendations for Viet Nam in the time to come are also mentioned in the thesis.

11. Practical applicability: The thesis can serve as a reference for the Party and State's agencies, research institutes, and universities in Vietnam look insight into the US's Indo-Pacific Strategy and its impacts on the region as a whole and Vietnam in particular.

12. Further research directions: The researcher will continue carrying out further research on the US's Indo-Pacific Strategy in the future, through which policy recommendations for Vietnam will be made.
