10. Summarize the results ofthesis:
Thesis"Communication messages about breast cancer prevention in Vietnamese online newspapers"carried out in order toThis thesis clarifies the content and form characteristics of communication messages on breast cancer prevention as presented in Vietnamese online newspapers. In addition, the thesis evaluates the effectiveness of these communication messages, identifying their strengths and weaknesses and proposing solutions to improve their quality.
In Chapter 1 of the thesis, the author established a basic theoretical framework as a foundation for the following chapters. Accordingly, the thesis delves into clarifying concepts related to the topic, building the foundational theories to be used in Chapter 2, including social constructivism, discourse theory, and framing theory.
In Chapter 2 of the thesis, the author simultaneously employs three research methods: content analysis, discourse analysis, and questionnaire survey, based on the theoretical framework developed in Chapter 1. Accordingly, in the content analysis method, the majority of articles focus on the topic of disease prevention and screening, providing basic knowledge about breast cancer; the number of articles on topics such as inspiring stories, economic consequences, or policy news remains limited.
Regarding discourse analysis methodology, the author of this thesis conducts discourse analysis using Fairclough's three-dimensional discourse model. The results of the discourse analysis show that the constructivist press regarding breast cancer relies on two main types of discourse: medical discourse and gender discourse.
Regarding the questionnaire survey method, the survey results show that the majority of the survey participants had a positive attitude towards the statements about attitudes and perceptions; however, their actions did not show a significant change.
In Chapter 3, building upon the analysis results of Chapter 2, the thesis summarizes the issues raised and proposes solutions and recommendations to improve the quality and effectiveness of communication messages on breast cancer prevention in Vietnamese online newspapers. The research results not only complement previous studies but also have theoretical and practical significance in breast cancer prevention communication for media organizations, reporters, journalists, and healthcare facilities.
11. Practical applications:
This thesis provides a detailed assessment of the content, form, and effectiveness of breast cancer prevention communication messages on Vietnamese online newspapers, helping media organizations understand the current state of breast cancer prevention communication and adjust their content creation methods to improve the quality of their messages.
Furthermore, the study also points out the advantages and disadvantages of communicating about breast cancer prevention, which is valuable for managers and health organizations in coordinating with the media to improve the effectiveness of public health communication.
12. Future research directions:
The author proposes three additional research directions for this topic in the future, including:
Firstly, this thesis only focuses on online media; future research could include comparisons with other media formats such as television, print newspapers, and social media (TikTok, Facebook, Instagram) regarding breast cancer prevention and control. Furthermore, the study could analyze messages about other types of cancer that impact society to provide a basis for comparison with breast cancer communication messages.
Secondly, new studies could utilize more in-depth quantitative methods such as surveys with larger populations and advanced data analytics software to measure the relationships and impacts between cognitive, attitudinal, and behavioral variables, thereby assessing the effectiveness of breast cancer prevention communication on the public.
Thirdly, the topic could be expanded to include an analysis of health-related media messages in Vietnamese online newspapers, or messages about serious illnesses, comparing them with health-related media messages in other countries to gain a comprehensive overview. This would then serve as a basis for proposing public health communication campaigns in Vietnam.

10. Summary of the Thesis Findings:
The thesis entitled“Media Messages on Breast Cancer Prevention and Control in Vietnamese Online Newspapers”was conducted to clarify the content and formal characteristics of media messages on breast cancer prevention and control presented in Vietnamese online newspapers. In addition, the thesis evaluates the effectiveness of these media messages, thereby identifying their strengths and limitations and considering solutions to improve their quality.
In Chapter 1, the author develops a fundamental theoretical framework as the basis for the subsequent chapters. structured, the thesis provides an in-depth clarification of the concepts related to the research topic and establishes the foundational theories applied in Chapter 2, including social construction theory, discourse theory, and framing theory.
In Chapter 2, the author simultaneously employs three research methods—content analysis, discourse analysis, and a questionnaire survey—based on the theoretical framework established in Chapter 1. The content analysis reveals that most articles focus on prevention and screening and provide basic knowledge about breast cancer. By contrast, the number of articles covering stories of inspirational individuals, economic consequences, or policy-related news remains limited.
Regarding discourse analysis, the author applies Fairclough's three-dimensional model of discourse analysis. The findings indicate that the press constructs breast cancer through two principal types of discourse: medical discourse and gender discourse.
Regarding the questionnaire survey, the findings show that most respondents expressed positive attitudes toward statements regarding awareness and attitudes; However, their behavior has not caused any significant change.
In Chapter 3, based on the analytical findings presented in Chapter 2, the thesis identifies the key issues arising from the current situation and subsequently proposes solutions and recommendations to improve the quality and effectiveness of media messages on breast cancer prevention and control in Vietnamese online newspapers. The research findings not only address gaps in previous studies but also offer theoretical and practical significance for communication activities related to breast cancer prevention and control undertaken by press agencies, reporters, journalists, and healthcare institutions.
11. Potential for Practical Application:
The thesis provides a detailed evaluation of the content, form, and effectiveness of media messages on breast cancer prevention and control in Vietnamese online newspapers. It enables press agencies to gain a clearer understanding of the current state of communication regarding breast cancer prevention and control, thereby allowing them to adjust their approaches to content development and improve message quality.
Furthermore, the study identifies the strengths and weaknesses of current communication practices regarding breast cancer prevention and control. Its findings may serve as a useful reference for managers and healthcare organizations in coordinating with the press to enhance the effectiveness of public health communication.
12. Directions for Future Research:
The author proposes three directions for future research on this topic:
First, the thesis focuses solely on online newspapers. Future studies could examine and compare other forms of media, such as television, print newspapers, and social media platforms (TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram), in communicating messages about breast cancer prevention and control. In addition, future research could analyze media messages regarding other types of cancer that have significant social impacts, thereby providing a basis for comparison with media messages on breast cancer.
Second, future studies could employ more advanced quantitative methods, such as conducting surveys with larger samples and using advanced data-analysis software to measure the relationships among, and impacts of, variables relating to awareness, attitudes, and behavior. This would facilitate an assessment of how effectively communicate about breast cancer prevention and control influences the public.
Third, the scope of the research could be expanded to encompass the analysis of health communication messages in Vietnamese online newspapers or media messages regarding life-threatening diseases. These messages could also be compared with health communication messages in other countries to provide a broad and comprehensive perspective, thus establishing a basis for suggesting public health communication campaigns in Vietnam.
