- The Vietnamese mendicant order is a synthesis of many socio-economic factors and conditions, a fusion of Northern and Southern Buddhism in Vietnam. The mendicant order embodies the Bodhisattva ideal of saving sentient beings, and its simple, purely Vietnamese style made it easily accessible and popular in Southern Vietnam at that time.
- The Buddhist nuns of the Vietnamese Khất Sĩ sect, under the leadership of Venerable Nun Huỳnh Liên, have inscribed their names in the history of Vietnamese Buddhism through their contributions not only to religious practice but also to the two wars of resistance against France and the United States. Venerable Nun Huỳnh Liên, along with other Venerable Nuns, led the nuns in the struggle for national independence and reunification, while actively promoting the teachings of the Vietnamese Khất Sĩ sect. Ngọc Phương Monastery is considered the ancestral temple of the Vietnamese Khất Sĩ sect's nuns, and today it has expanded to over 200 monasteries, mainly concentrated in the South and Central regions.
- Through analysis and synthesis, the process of dissecting various aspects reveals the spirit of service of the four exemplary nuns of the Khất Sĩ Buddhist order, while also contributing to honoring the beauty of Vietnamese women who are resilient and indomitable in the struggle against foreign invaders, and in the Dharma as true Buddhists with the aspiration to become Bodhisattvas to save sentient beings.
