10. Summary of the thesis results:

This thesis introduces readers to the general history, cultural characteristics, features of festivals, and some typical festivals of Thailand and Vietnam. The tradition of releasing floating lanterns in festivals in Thailand and Vietnam is described against this general backdrop, from the origins of the ritual, its practice, and the distinctive features of the lantern-releasing ritual in various localities in Thailand, as well as the lantern-releasing festival in Hue, Vietnam. From this, the thesis draws conclusions and assessments about the nature of the lantern-releasing festival, the similarities and differences between the lantern-releasing festivals in Thailand and Vietnam, as well as the cultural exchange and adaptation between countries in Southeast Asia.

The thesis results also show the harmonious combination and widespread influence of the cultural traditions of the two countries, especially the influence of Buddhist culture on the lives of the people from ancient times to the present. The Lantern Festival, in addition to reflecting the life and beliefs of the local people, also strengthens the relationship between the local people and those from other regions. Although not expressed in words, the festival is a profound connection, reflecting the beliefs and sentiments of the local people. Beyond sharing meaningful and impressive cultural traditions, it also encourages openness to acceptance, aiming for mutual understanding and strengthening friendly relations between countries in the region.

The results of this thesis can be applied to research on the tradition of releasing floating lanterns in neighboring countries in Southeast Asia, communities in river basins in Asia, and on all other continents, to provide a clearer comparative study of their formation and origin.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

The thesis introduces readers about the general characteristics of history, cultural characteristics, typical festivals and some of the typify festivals of Thailand and Vietnam. Loy Krathong in the festival of Thailand and Vietnam described out in the same type of frame from the origin of the festival, the performance, specific of the Loy Krathong festival in country parts of Thailand as well as the Loy Krathong festival in Hue province of Vietnam... Those made the thesis brings out the result, and evaluation essencial of the Loy Krathong festival, the similarity and difference between the Loy Krathong festival in Thailand and Vietnam as well as the coomunications of the cultural exchange itself within the Souhteast Asia.

The result of this thesis shows the connection and expression of culture between the festivals of two countries, especially the impact of Bhudism culture on the living of people from the pass until now. The Loy Krathong festival, besides showing the living, belief of the local people, and also the connection between the local people with the visitors from other areas. Even it is not connected by speaking out, but it is a deeply connected to express the beliefs and spirituality of the local people. Besides exchanging the culteral so meaningful and immpresive, it is also opening up the minds of people to receving or understanding each other too.

The result of this thesis can be used in the further research field about the Loy Krathong festival wihtin the neighborhood countries in Southeast Asia, countries along the river in Asia and also for another country, for the deeper comparision of the formation of our origins clearer.
