The research topic "The role of social workers in elderly care activities (Research at Van Phuc nursing home - Thanh Tri - Hanoi) is a new research direction on social work in the field of elderly health care focusing on the private model.

The thesis analyzed and evaluated the current status of elderly health care activities and the role of social work in these activities at Van Phuc Nursing Home. Health care activities have met the basic needs of the elderly. Social workers have performed some of their roles in supporting elderly health care activities. However, these activities as well as the implementation of the roles of social workers still face some difficulties. On that basis, the thesis makes some recommendations to improve the health care activities for the elderly at Van Phuc Nursing Home. The first measure is to increase the quantity and quality of social workers, followed by raising awareness among leaders, staff and elderly people at the nursing home about the role of social workers in health care activities. Besides, it is necessary to have a system of reasonable policies, incentives, and create favorable conditions for social workers to work with a secure salary regime.

11. Practical application:

The results of the thesis can be used as a reference for some studies in social work on the elderly. In addition, private elderly care centers and social workers working in the field of elderly care at those centers can use the recommendations proposed in the thesis in the process of assisting the elderly. At the same time, realizing the importance of the role of social workers in private elderly care centers also brings job opportunities for many students majoring in social work after graduation.

12. Further research directions:

Expand the scope of research on measures to implement the roles of professional social workers to improve the effectiveness of health care activities for the elderly in private nursing homes.

“The roles of social workers in activities to support health care for elderly people" (Study at Care center for elderly people Van Phuc, Thanh Tri, Ha Noi), as a new research field of social work in the field of health care in the elderly focused private model.

Dissertation analysis, to assess the status of health care the elderly and the role of social work in such activities at the nursing center of Van Phuc. Health care has to meet the basic needs of the elderly. Social work staff has performed a number of its roles in supporting activities of health care of the elderly. However, this activity as well as the implementation of the role of social workers also encounters some difficulties. On this basis, the thesis gives some recommendations in order to improve health care for the elderly at a nursing center in Van Phuc. In which the first measure is to increase the quantity and quality of social work staff, followed by raising awareness of objects leadership, employees and the elderly in the heart of the role of social workers in health care activities. Besides, the system should have reasonable policies, encourage and facilitate the secure mode salaries for social workers working.
