The research results of the thesis show that social capital, understood as trust and reciprocity in social networks, plays an important role in fishing and seafood trading activities in Hai Hoa commune, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province. During the fishing process, local people have used social capital to organize production, especially offshore fishing activities. For seafood trading, trust and reciprocity are important bases to help people mobilize capital and purchase seafood locally.

Summary of the findings of the thesis: The study results of the thesis indicate that social capital, understood as trust and reciprocity exchange in social networks, plays an important role for the fishing and seafood trading in Hai Hoa commune, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province. In the process of fishing, the locals apply social capital to organize production, especially offshore fishing activities. To the seafood trading, trust and reciprocity exchange are the foundation for raising financial capital and purchasing local seafood.
