10. Summary of the thesis results:
The thesis is titled “The craft of making banh chung (Vietnamese sticky rice cake) in Bo Dau village, Co Lung commune, Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province. This is the first serious study on a traditional rice cake (bánh chưng) making village in Thai Nguyen province. In Vietnamese traditional culture, bánh chưng is not just an ordinary food item, but it also plays an important role in spiritual culture – it is used for worship during festivals such as the Hung Kings Festival, Thanh Minh Festival, and the 5th day of the 5th lunar month. Therefore, bánh chưng has become a sacred symbol of the nation, representing community cohesion, ancestor worship, and Vietnamese culinary culture related to agricultural civilization. Historically, bánh chưng has not been considered a craft by the Vietnamese people, as no village has been able to transform a cultural element into a commodity to supplement agricultural income. In recent years, along with some other bánh chưng making villages in the North, Bo Dau village began to develop the bánh chưng making craft in the 1970s. Bo Dau village was formerly an agricultural village. Traditionally, it was a simple occupation, but thanks to the ingenuity of the villagers and the favorable location, some people in the village have skillfully transformed banh chung (Vietnamese rice cakes) into a valuable commodity. From just one or two households, now more than 80 households in Bo Dau village have switched from agriculture to producing and selling banh chung.
Having developed for nearly 40 years, the traditional rice cake making craft has significantly contributed to changing the face of people's lives in the village. The income of those involved in the craft and those affected by it has increased 3-4 times compared to agriculture. This has impacted the economic structure of the village and households. Consequently, the number of households engaged in agriculture has decreased, while the number of households involved in handicrafts and services has increased. The agricultural labor structure within households has also changed, with a greater number of workers shifting to the business and production of rice cakes. The division of labor in the craft village is also clearly defined, with the role of women in developing and maintaining the rice cake making craft becoming more prominent. Infrastructure such as electricity, roads, schools, health stations, and houses have been built to a high standard, befitting a village that is gradually urbanizing. Currently, the development of the banh chung (Vietnamese rice cake) making craft in Bo Dau in particular, and banh chung making villages throughout Northern Vietnam in general, has contributed to the preservation and promotion of the nation's culture.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
My thesis is"Making Chung cake in Bo Dau village, Co Lung Commune, Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen Province".This is the first and serious research about Chung Cake village in Thai Nguyen province. In the traditional culture of Vietnamese people, Chung cakes is not only a common cake to eat, but it also plays an important role in the spiritual culture - which is a type of cake for worshiping in the occasions of festivals, ceremonies or Tet holoday such as Hung Vuong Festival, Tet Thanh Minh Day and so on. Therefore, Chung cake has existed in the life of Vietnamese people as a sacred symbol of the nation for community solidarity, ancestor worship and Vietnamese cuisine culture related to agricultural civilization. Until now, Vietnamese people still do not consider making Chung cake as a handicraft because no village can turn it into a kind of goods to earn money. In recent years, together with some Chung cake villages in the north of Vietnam, Bo Dau village has begun making Chung cake since the 1970s of the 20th century. In the past, Bo Dau village was a pure agricultural village. However, with the flexibility of people and knowing how to take advantage of the convinient position of this place, they turned Chung cake into a kind of valuable goods cleverly. Before, there were just one or two household making Chung cake. But now there are more than 80 household shifting from husbandry to making and trading Chung cake.
In addition, with the development of nearly 40 years, making Chung cake has contributed significantly to the change of the people's lives in Bo Dau village. The incomes of Chung Cake makers and people affected by Chung cake village are 3- 4 times higher than in agriculture. Making Chung cake has many impacts on the change of the economic structure and households in the village. created, the number of agricultural household items reduces and the number of household appliances engaged in handicrafts and services increases significantly. Also, the number of labors in the household engaging in the agriculture also changed. For example, many of households have switched to making and trading Chung cake. The division of labor was also made clear with the woman's role in developing and maintaining the craft of making Chung cake. Infrastructure systems such as electricity, roads, schools, stations, and houses are built beautifully, deserving with a gradually urbanized village. Currently, the development of making Chung cake in the Bo Dau village in particular and many other Chung cake villages in the North in general has contributed to the preservation and promotion of national culture.
