University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

On the afternoon of December 5, 2023, the final round of the Staff Football Tournament and the closing ceremony of the 2nd VNU Staff and Student Sports Festival 2023 took place in Hoa Lac. This was one of many activities jointly organized by the VNU Trade Union, the VNU Communist Youth Union, the Center for Physical Education and Sports, and the Center for University Urban Management to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Government's Decree on VNU (December 10, 1993 - December 10, 2023), the 117th anniversary of VNU's Traditional Day, and to celebrate the successful congresses of the VNU Trade Unions at all levels.

On the morning of December 5, 2023, a consultation meeting for the digital capacity building program for students and faculty, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), took place at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH).

On November 30, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) continued to organize a training program for its staff and lecturers on how to conduct research, write international publications, and share experiences in scientific research.

On November 27th, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) held a meeting and signed a cooperation agreement with Yunnan Agricultural University, China, regarding student exchange, joint research, and conference organization.

On the afternoon of November 27, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) signed a science and technology research project contract titled "Compilation of the Nam Dinh Gazetteer" with the People's Committee of Nam Dinh province.

In response to the Law Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on November 9th, and in implementation of the Youth Union's work plan and youth movement for the 2023-2024 academic year, on November 11th, 2023, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, successfully organized the competition: "Law on Electronic Identification and Online Public Services".

On November 23, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) held a meeting and working session with the University College of Innovation - Dublin Ireland (UCD-IA) within the framework of the Vietnam-Ireland Bilateral Cooperation Program (VIBE) on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

On November 22, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) held a meeting and working session with the Shandong Provincial Academy of Social Sciences, China.

This morning, November 23, 2023, the Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, received and worked with representatives from Salento University, Italy.

Hanoi University is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year. For me, this is a truly significant event, because in 1983-1984 I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work at this prestigious university alongside wonderful Vietnamese colleagues. I will always remember that I was not just a lecturer seconded from Kazan University (Soviet Union), but like "family," a member of the Hanoi University family.

High school students of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and students of specialized high schools nationwide can register to accumulate credits in advance for certain undergraduate courses at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU (VNU-USSH) starting from the second semester of grade 11, provided they meet the conditions.

Upon completion of a course, students receive a transcript. Students are recognized (or receive equivalent credits) for these courses in the master's program if they meet the requirements.

This morning, November 20, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, solemnly held a rally to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day, with the participation of many generations of leaders, scientists, lecturers, staff of the university and partner organizations.

On the morning of November 16, 2023, a "Zero-Cost Supermarket" for students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-USSH) was organized by the Trade Union in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Attending the event were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, Vice Rector of the University, Dr. Ngo Kieu Oanh, President of the University's Trade Union, along with faculty members representing the Trade Union Executive Committee, departments, faculties/divisions, and a large number of students.
