Following research on Japan's policy regarding the South China Sea, the trainees have completed the objectives and tasks of the project. A summary of some of the results is as follows:
- In Chapter 1, the author provided a general overview of the changes in Japan's foreign and security policies since the end of the Cold War. From this, the author deduced the role, position, and importance of the South China Sea issue in Japan's foreign policy.
- In Chapter 2, the author explored the changing perspective of Japan on the South China Sea issue, analyzing the methods Japan employs in implementing its policies regarding the South China Sea.
- In Chapter 3, based on an analysis of Japan's policy in the South China Sea, a forecast of its prospects, difficulties, and impacts on the region and Vietnam, the author offers policy recommendations for Vietnam to maximize the benefits of Japan's South China Sea engagement policy.

Practical applicationsThis project contributes to the study of changes in Japan's policy regarding the South China Sea, aiming to identify developments and impacts on the region and Vietnam, thereby offering recommendations to Vietnam on implementing its South China Sea policy as well as its foreign policy towards Japan. In addition, it can serve as a reference document for those researching Japanese policy and the South China Sea issue.

Future research directions:In the future, the author will continue to research issues related to Japan's policy on global issues in general and the South China Sea issue in particular, aiming to contribute to raising awareness and offering useful recommendations for Vietnam's foreign policy towards Japan.
