11. Summary of project results:
After studying Japan’s policy on the East Sea issue, the students have completed the project’s objectives and tasks. A summary of some results is as follows:
- In chapter 1, the author has mentioned in general terms the changes in Japan's foreign and security policies since the end of the Cold War. From there, he draws out the role, position and importance of the East Sea issue in Japan's foreign policy.
- In chapter 2, the author studied the changes in Japan's perception of the East Sea issue, thereby analyzing Japan's policy implementation methods on the East Sea issue.
- In chapter 3, based on the analysis of Japan's policy in the East Sea, the author forecasts the policy's prospects, difficulties and impacts on the region and Vietnam. From there, the author makes policy recommendations for Vietnam to make the most of Japan's East Sea engagement policy.
12. Practical application: The project contributes to the study of changes in Japan's policy on the East Sea issue, in order to identify developments and impacts on the region and Vietnam, thereby making recommendations for Vietnam in implementing its East Sea policy as well as its foreign policy towards Japan. In addition, it can be used as a reference document for subjects in the process of researching Japan's policy as well as the East Sea issue.

Further research directions:In the coming time, the author will continue to research issues related to Japan's policies on global issues in general and the East Sea issue in particular to contribute to raising awareness and wishes to contribute useful recommendations in Vietnam's foreign policy towards Japan.
