India's foreign policy is similar to the concepts mentioned, however, it aims at more specific goals and principles, not only for the benefit of the nation but also for the trend of peace, cooperation, and integration in the region and the world.
Furthermore, Chapter 1 provides an understanding of the adjustments to India's foreign policy throughout different periods, from its independence (1947) to the present, and the achievements India has made in diplomatic relations with countries within and outside the region. In addition, Chapter 1 focuses on highlighting the characteristics of India's foreign policy since Prime Minister Modi came to power (from 2014 to the present).
- In Chapter 2, the author focuses on providing an overview of Vietnam-India relations before 2019 and the main content of Vietnam's foreign policy from 2019 to 2023. Accordingly, Vietnam and India established official diplomatic relations in 1947 and have maintained them well to this day. The traditional, friendly relationship between the two countries is divided into five stages. In each stage, the author presents a brief overview of the context of bilateral relations and the results of cooperation achieved by both sides in the fields of politics-diplomacy, economics, trade-investment, defense-security, culture, etc. Following that, the author outlines the basic content of India's foreign policy towards Vietnam from 2019 to 2023, broken down by each field: politics-diplomacy, economics, defense-security, science-technology, and cultural exchange and people-to-people exchanges. Based on that, the author assesses some of the main impacts of this policy on relations between the two countries and the development of Vietnam.
