The thesis is a systematic research work specializing in Canada's immigration policy, clarifying the formation and implementation process through historical periods from 1867 to the present, thereby seeing the impacts on the development of Canada as well as the existing problems that have become challenges for the immigrant community in general, including Vietnamese immigrants in particular, and the Canadian government.

The novelty of this thesis lies in the focus on researching and clarifying the issue that no other research document has written in depth and systematically about Canada's immigration policy from the perspective of the Vietnamese people, including mentioning the issue of Vietnamese immigration to Canada from the past to the present and the role of the Vietnamese immigrant community living and contributing to the economic, cultural and social development in Canada.

Thesis research is systematically specialized in Canadian immigration policy, clarifying the process of formation and implementation through the historical period from 1867 to the present, which shows the impact on the development of Canada as well as the existing problems become challenges for both immigrant communities in general, including the Vietnamese immigrant in particular and Canadian government also.
New point in this research is research focusing and clarifying issues that there has never been a research material written an intensively and systematically on immigration policy of Canada from a Vietnamese's perspective, in which refers to the issue of Vietnamese immigrants to Canada so far and the role of the Vietnamese immigrant community living and contributing to the economic and social cultural development in Canada.
