Summary of the results of the thesis: The research topic is about fortune telling of people in Hai Phong city. The results show that in Hai Phong today, fortune tellers are numerous in number, diverse in forms of fortune telling, and come from many different professions. In rural areas, most of them come from farmers. Regarding the gender of the practitioners, there is no big difference between men and women. Among them, there are some practitioners who are disabled or have suffered from neurological diseases. The majority of practitioners are semi-professional. Among those who go to fortune telling, there are more women than men, and they work in many different jobs. They go to fortune telling not only to choose a good day but also for other purposes such as: consulting about houses, land, graves, family, children, work, etc. This activity tends to increase in the future along with the increase in worship activities. The act of fortune telling partly satisfies people's spiritual needs, but there are also some negative impacts on individuals, families and society. The topic proposes some recommendations for religious managers in raising people's understanding, promoting so that people can clearly see the negative impacts of this action on their lives, contributing to improving the living environment of religion and beliefs in the current period. 11. Practical applicability: The study shows the difference between women and men in the decision to go to fortune telling, the level of belief and motivation to go to fortune telling. Furthermore, it analyzes some ways of communication between practitioners and people during fortune telling. This information will be useful suggestions for building propaganda and education programs for people to better understand this activity in order to limit the consequences it causes. 12.
