The thesis has provided a theoretical framework for the political system. In chapter 1, the thesis presented the concept of the political system and the formation and development of the political system of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam from 1945 to 1954. In chapter 2, the thesis examined the structure and operating principles of the political system of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam from 1954 to 1975. In chapter 3, the thesis assessed the advantages and disadvantages in the organization and operation of the political system of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam from 1954 to 1975, thereby drawing historical lessons for the current period.

Practical applicability: The thesis provides a theoretical framework on the political system and knowledge about the formation and development process of the political system of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, especially the structure and operating principles in the period 1954-1975. Thereby, lessons are drawn from the organization and operation methods for the innovation of the current Vietnamese political system.
