- Overview of rural tourism from concepts, characteristics, principles and explanation of the necessity of developing rural tourism in Vietnam.
- Based on the analysis of tourism resources of Nghe An, the author points out the potential for rural tourism development of Nghe An and some groups of appropriate solutions to develop this type of tourism here.
- Based on the survey and assessment of tourism resources as well as the model and stage of rural tourism development in Hoa Tien 2 village, investigating the current status of tourism activities here and the wishes of the people, the author analyzed the model and advantages and disadvantages of the current tourism mechanism, thereby proposing solutions to develop rural tourism in Hoa Tien 2 in a sustainable direction, focusing on building a new management model and tourism mechanism.

Practical applicability: Tourism management agencies in Nghe An can consider the possibility of applying the author's proposed model in practice to develop rural tourism in Hoa Tien 2 village in particular and other locations with the potential and conditions for rural tourism development in Nghe An in general.
