Street children are one of ten groups of children in special circumstances as defined in the amended Law on Protection, Care and Education of Children of 2004. The fact that street children are forced to earn a living poses significant social consequences: They are victims of human trafficking, vulnerable to abuse and exploitation into illegal activities, and potentially contribute to increased crime in society. Unattended street children are exploited by drug traffickers, drug users, and thieves to commit illegal acts. The lack of care for street children negatively impacts the quality of the population and the quality of the workforce in the country.
The Hanoi Blue Dragon Children's Fund is a social organization working to assist children in extremely difficult circumstances, including street children in Hanoi. The services that the Hanoi Blue Dragon Children's Fund provides to street children through its assistance program are of great significance, not only changing the children's current lives but also helping to bring them a brighter future.
One of the services that has brought about such a significant change for street children is the legal aid program for street children provided by the Foundation.
The study of "Legal Aid Activities for Street Children at the Blue Dragon Children's Fund of Hanoi" reveals what needs to be done in providing legal assistance to street children and its significance in changing their lives. Street children is one of ten categories of children in special circumstances which are specified in the Law on Protection, Care, and Education of Children altered in 2004. Street children have potential risk : being victims of human trafficking easy to be abused to do illegal work and being potential risk to increase crime in the society : street children without caregivers are used by the drug seller, user, thieft… to do illegal work. Street children who do not care affect the quality of the population and the quality of labor in the country.
Blue Dragon Children's Foundation is a social organization which supports children in especially difficult circumstances including street children who are living in Hanoi streets. Its services for street children mean a lot to them because it does not only change their current lives but also supports to bring a brighter future to them.
One of the organization's services which makes the significant change to street children is legal advocacy service.
The reserach 'Legal advocacy service at Blue Dragon Children's Foundation' shows us what to do when providing legal advocacy advocacy to street children, and how it means in changing the children's lives. The research shows us the need of street children on legal advocacy support, the role and great contribution of Blue Dragon Children's Foundation to the mission of protect and care for children in especially difficult circumstances in Vietnam
