10. Summary of thesis results:

Tourism promotion plays an increasingly important role in the travel business because travel activities are the intermediary between tourism supply and demand. Faced with rapid changes in the socio-economic environment and increasingly fierce competition in the market, businesses that want to attract customers need to make changes in promotional activities to attract tourists.

This thesis is conducted with the following purposes:

Systematize some theoretical issues on promotion activities in enterprises, characteristics of promotion activities in travel enterprises as well as criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of promotion activities in travel enterprises.

Based on a general overview of the travel business system in Hanoi, we will conduct an in-depth survey of the current situation, evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges of tourism promotion activities at Hanoi Tourism Company, Viet Dan Tourism Company Limited, and Youth Solutions and Communication Company Limited - PYS Travel from 2013 to 2015.

Based on the above results, propose solutions to improve the effectiveness of promotion activities at these travel businesses.

This thesis contributes to improving the effectiveness of promotion work in travel agencies in Hanoi. Hopefully, if these companies develop more and more strongly, Vietnam will have more conditions to introduce the beauty of the country and Vietnamese people to international friends.

As a liaison between tourists and tourism service providers, tours promotion is playing an increasingly important role in tour organizing organizations. This task is becoming even more crucial in the context of an ever more fierce competition in the market and a need to adapt quickly to constant changes in the socio economic conditions.

The aim of this thesis is to:

Review the literature on tourism promotion activities in tours organizing companies, hence describing the characteristics of such activities and identifying the criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of promotion activities in tours organizing companies

Based on a review of tours organizing companies in Hanoi, investigate located the current situation, strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities of conducting tourism promotion activities at Hanoi Tourism Company, Viet Dan Tourism limited company, and PYS Travel Company in 2013 – 2015.
