Tourism promotion plays an increasingly important role in the travel business because travel agencies act as an intermediary connecting tourism supply and demand. Given the rapid changes in the socio-economic environment and the increasingly fierce competition in the market, businesses wanting to attract tourists need to make changes to their promotional activities.
This thesis was undertaken with the following objectives:
This study systematizes several theoretical issues regarding promotional activities in businesses, the characteristics of promotional activities in travel businesses, and indicators for evaluating the effectiveness of promotional activities in travel businesses.
Based on a general overview of the travel agency system in Hanoi, this study delves into the current situation, assessing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges of tourism promotion activities at Hanoi Tourism Company, Viet Dan Tourism Company Limited, and PYS Travel - Solutions for Youth Tourism and Media Company Limited during the period from 2013 to 2015.
Based on the findings above, propose solutions to improve the effectiveness of promotional activities at these travel businesses.
This thesis contributes to improving the effectiveness of promotional activities in travel businesses in Hanoi. It is hoped that if these companies continue to develop strongly, Vietnam will have even more opportunities to showcase the beauty of its land and people to the international community.

As a liaison between tourists and tourism service providers, tours promotion is playing an increasingly important role in tour organizing organizations. This task is becoming even more crucial in the context of an ever more fierce competition in the market and a need to adapt quickly to constant changes in the socio economic conditions.

Review the literature on tourism promotion activities in tours organizing companies, hence describing the characteristics of such activities and identifying the criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of promotion activities in tours organizing companies
Based on a review of tours organizing companies in Hanoi, investigate located the current situation, strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities of conducting tourism promotion activities at Hanoi Tourism Company, Viet Dan Tourism limited company, and PYS Travel Company in 2013 – 2015.
