In Vietnam, many places have been successful in raising wild boars, bringing high profits to farmers and also contributing to diversifying livestock products, shifting agricultural structure, creating jobs, and increasing income for farmers. However, people also face many difficulties in the process of implementing their livestock activities. People in Vu Oai commune, Hoanh Bo district, Quang Ninh province are not out of the above situation, there are advantages and disadvantages. The most obvious difficulties that households are facing are the lack of knowledge and livestock techniques, little connection with each other, and little community spirit. To solve this problem, it is necessary to have the participation of the whole society along with policies and mechanisms to create conditions for the development of livestock households, slaughterhouses, businesses, and connections of social workers... To do so, it is necessary to have the cooperation of the whole community, connecting into a closed chain from farmers to final consumers.
In this thesis, we have evaluated the current wild boar farming activities in the locality. The results show that Vu Oai commune has potential for wild boar farming. In fact, the commune has implemented many activities to encourage people to raise wild boar. However, the lack of knowledge and techniques in raising animals is a major limitation that makes many people hesitant. This is also considered the main need of people in this activity.
