10. Summary of thesis results:

With the results obtained, we found that in terms of the structure of the words for vegetables and fruits in Vietnamese, it can be said that they are relatively simple. All of these words are of the same word class (noun) and have the same basic function of identifying. Therefore, in terms of word structure, these words do not have complex combinations that are difficult to analyze like some other linguistic units in the Vietnamese vocabulary system.

Through that, we see that some words referring to vegetables and fruits when translated into English have ensured equivalence in terms of grammar and semantics. Grammatically, the words in the source language and the target language are of the same word class (noun). Semantically, each pair of equivalents is used to refer to a certain type of vegetable or fruit. And there are also many cases where the identifying feature is omitted and not translated. This is probably because the words referring to vegetables and fruits in Vietnamese have special identifying features that cannot be translated into English. And it also shows the difficulty in translating as well as comparing the two languages. This is even more evident when examining literary data.

Through a survey of literary data, we found that most of the words used in the literary novel “Thoi xa van” are familiar and close to the daily life of Vietnamese people. However, when translating into English, the survey of novel translation has partly demonstrated the difficulty in surveying translation of names: translators sometimes ignore or change the names compared to the target language, mostly because the translators themselves are not Vietnamese, so it is difficult to understand Vietnamese vegetables and fruits, so ignoring or changing the names will lead to possible misunderstanding, or loss of the rustic “quality” that is associated with Vietnamese people…

11. Practical application:

The research results of the thesis are a useful reference not only for Vietnamese people but also help more or less in teaching Vietnamese to British people and teaching English to Vietnamese people. Providing learners with a scientific basis and more effective methods in learning the language and better using the culture of verbal communication, as well as understanding part of the socio-cultural characteristics revealed through this group of words.

12. Further research directions:

If we have the conditions and time, we will study another aspect of the words for vegetables and fruits, which is the symbolic meaning of the two languages English and Vietnamese in this group of words, in order to provide a deeper insight into the way of expressing the cultural and social characteristics of the two countries.

10. Summary of the thesis's findings:

With the results obtained, we found that in terms of the structure of vegetables and fruits in Vietnamese, can be said to be relatively simple. All of these words are the same word type (noun) and have the same basic function as the identifier. Therefore, in terms of word structure, these words do not have complicated complexity, difficult to analyze as with some other language units in the Vietnamese vocabulary system.

Thereby, we found that some words of vegetables and fruits when translated into English guaranteed grammatical and semantic equivalence. In terms of grammar, the words in the source language and target language are the same word type (noun). In semantics, one pair of equivalents is used to refer to a certain vegetable. And there are quite a few cases that ignore the idiomatic identifier. This is probably because the word vegetable only in Vietnamese has a special identifier that can not be translated into English. And it also shows the difficulty of performing translations as well as cross-language research. This is particularly evident when examining literature.

Through the literature survey, we find that most of the words used in the literary novel "Thoi xa vang" are all close to everyday fruit and vegetable terms. Vietnamese people. However, when translated into English, the translation of the novel has partly proved to be problematic when examining the identifier: translators may either ignore or change the identifier relative to the target language. The reason is that translators are not Vietnamese so it is difficult to understand Vietnamese vegetables and fruits, so ignoring or changing identifiers will lead to misleading, or losing the "quality" rural folk capital associated with the Vietnamese ...

11. Practical applicability:

The research results of this thesis are a useful reference for not only Vietnamese but also helpful for teaching English to the English and teaching English to the Vietnamese. Provide learners with a scientific basis and a more effective method of learning a language and better utilize the language of communication as well as a partial understanding of the social and cultural traits revealed through this group of words.

12. Further research directions:

If conditions and time are concerning, we will study to another aspect of the term fruit and vegetable is the symbolic meaning of the two English-Vietnamese languages in this group, to give insight. More in the way of expressing the cultural and social characteristics of the two countries.
