- Summary of thesis results: - The thesis surveyed the macro-structure of news broadcasts on Vietnam National Radio, including: news structure, news topic, sentence usage, and vocabulary in news broadcasts on Vietnam National Radio. We obtained several results, such as: Sentences in news broadcasts on Vietnam National Radio are mainly active sentences, with 20-40 syllables, and easily understandable subject-predicate structures; the proportion of words in written style is high, and there are also many colloquial words… - In surveying the micro-structure of news broadcasts, we focused on the length of the news, the speed of broadcast, and the use of intonation elements such as pitch, duration, and intensity… when presenting the news. Besides the listening and sensory evaluation method, we combined this with assessment and surveying based on images recorded on Cool Edit – a professional audio processing software currently used at the Voice of Vietnam – to study the micro-structure of the news broadcast. Based on the survey results, we propose several issues regarding language use and news presentation on air, aiming to improve the quality of news broadcasts on the Voice of Vietnam.
