10. Summary of the thesis results:
During the data collection process for this research project, we found that the behaviors of praising and receiving praise provided sufficient data for the study. Therefore, within the scope of this thesis, we will not study some linguistic behaviors but will focus solely on the behavior of praising and receiving praise.
The thesis consists of 3 chapters:
Chapter 1: Theoretical Foundations
Chapter 2: This thesis presents the methods of giving praise, as well as the models and structures of direct and indirect praise given by Vietnamese speakers and Lao Military Academy students (based on survey results). Errors found in the Vietnamese-language praise behavior of Lao Military Academy students include pragmatic, lexical, and grammatical errors. Among pragmatic errors, there is a mixed use of vocabulary."Implicit and metaphorical ways of speaking" versus "asking to compliment"Mistake of using mixed usage.ways to praise narrative" with "Ways to ask a compliment" and misuse errors "The manner of praise in hypothetical, desired behavior"In both direct and indirect compliments, errors are the most common among learners. The reason for these errors is that learners haven't mastered the different ways of giving compliments in Vietnamese, leading to confusion and incorrect usage, resulting in compliments that don't achieve the desired effect. Errors in giving compliments include interference errors and errors in the intended meaning of the words."
Chapter 3: The thesis presented the methods and structures of receiving praise among Vietnamese people and Lao Military Academy students. Specifically, the methods of receiving praise among Vietnamese people were 8; the methods of receiving praise in Vietnamese by Lao Military Academy students (based on survey results) were 7. The structures of receiving praise in Vietnamese were 10, while the structures of receiving praise in Vietnamese by Lao Military Academy students (based on survey results) were 8. Notably, the methods of receiving praise among Lao people did not include “The method of receiving praise involves not responding to the compliment. And the structure for receiving praise among Lao students is absent."The structure of changing the subject and the structure of silence"Similar to the errors in the Lao students' behavior of giving compliments, the errors in the acceptance of compliments that the thesis found include pragmatic, lexical, and grammatical errors. The two types of errors that students made most frequently were: errors in using combinations."Affirmation" and "negation"in the same response behavior and usage errormethodeuphemismand "method of affirmation"This error occurs within the same response behavior. The cause of the error is that learners have not yet grasped the ways of receiving compliments in Vietnamese, leading to inconsistent combinations of methods and structures in their responses. The errors in receiving compliments by students are similar to those in giving compliments themselves: interference errors and target phrase errors."
The novelty of this study lies in researching the behavior of praising and receiving praise through the specific subject of Lao military trainees learning Vietnamese in a military environment (Unit 871 – General Political Department). This is a unique environment that has significantly influenced the trainees' acquisition of the target language.
11. Practical applications:
The research findings of this thesis will be a practical resource for teachers, helping to improve the quality of Vietnamese language learning for foreigners in general and for Lao students in particular at Regiment 871; at the same time, the research also reveals the subtle nuances expressing the unique linguistic and cultural identity in the communication and behavior of Vietnamese people, highlighting the beauty and richness of the national language in the perception of Lao students as well as foreigners when studying and interacting with Vietnamese.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
In the course of the survey data to conduct project work, we found, acts and receiving commendation compliment behavior has provided enough data to be able to serve the research process. So within this thesis, we have not studied some language behavior research focus acts and receiving commendation compliment behavior.
The thesis comprises of 03 chapters:
Chapter 1: Foundation
Chapter 2: In the thesis, the author expresses the manner, model and structure of direct or indirect compliments given by Vietnamese people and Laotian military students (on the basis of survey results). Faults in praises in Vietnamese language of Laotian military students are pragmatic, lexical and grammatical mistakes. For pragmatic faults, mixed use between"metaphoric expression"and“interrogation for commendation”,!"explicit accessory"and“interrogation for commendation”as well as wrong use of“compliment for expectations”in direct or indirect praise are popular. They result from unsolid knowledge about use of compliment in Vietnamese language called interlingual error and intralingual errors.
Chapter 3: The thesis has released structures and methods of commendation receipt of Vietnamese people and of Laotian military students. In which, the number of methods of commendation receipt of Vietnamese people is 8; and the number of methods of commendation receipt in Vietnamese of Laos military students (on the basis of survey results) is 7. Commendation receipt of Vietnamese people and receipt of compliment in Vietnamese language of Laotian Military Students consist of 10 structures and 8 structures, respectively. In which, the methods of Commendation receipt of Laos people are not included“Receiving commendation by not responding to compliments”, and structure of Commendation receipt of Laos students is not included“the structure of diverting the conversation and structure of silence”.Like errors of commendation behavior of Laotian students, the errors of commendation receipt that the thesis has collected include pragmatics errors, vocabulary errors and grammar errors. Two errors that students make more than all others are combination of"affirmative"andNegativesentences in one response, and errors of usingeuphemism”and"Affirmation"in one response. Errors result from student's misunderstanding methods of commendation receipt in Vietnamese, thus they often combine inconsistent methods and structures in their response. Errors of commendation receipt of Laos Military Students are also the same as those of commendation behavior, interlingual errors and intralingual errors.
The new things of the research into commendation behavior and commendation receipt via Laos Military Students who are learning Vietnamese in Army environment (Unit 871 - General Political Department of the People's Army of Vietnam). The author finds out vocabulary errors, grammar errors and pragmatics errors by comparing to Vietnamese structure model in order to find the errors of commendation behavior and commendation receipt.
