10. Summary of the thesis results:
Based on the results of theoretical and practical research on “The connection between belief in Buddhist teachings and parental behavior towards children."We draw some conclusions:
- The majority of respondents believe in the Buddhist doctrines of Karma and the Four Noble Truths. They are also able to apply these principles to their interactions with their children, with positive behaviors frequently used in moral and lifestyle education, work and study, and communication with their children. Conversely, authoritarian and dictatorial behaviors have decreased.
- There are gender differences in beliefs about Buddhist teachings and parental behavior. Generally, mothers have a higher level of interaction with their children and use more positive behaviors towards them.
11. Practical applications:
Interacting with children is a crucial skill for everyone, a skill that can be acquired through learning, training, and practice in daily life. The authors propose understanding, knowing, and applying the law of cause and effect and the Four Noble Truths to life as a method for considering and adjusting parental behavior towards children. This aims to enhance positive behaviors, reduce negative ones, and create a respectful and democratic relationship based on parental love.
Meditation centers and temples can facilitate the opening of meditation retreats, courses, and practice sessions combined with Dharma teachings for various groups such as children, students, adults, and family members, so that they can learn and cultivate an understanding of the law of karma in life, and how to overcome conflicts and difficulties on their life journey, thereby leading to positive changes in behavior.
