Vietnam and China are neighboring countries, sharing mountains and rivers. Diplomatic, economic, and cultural relations have been established between the two countries for a very long time. In the border region between Vietnam and China, the Zhuang people in Guangxi and the Nung people in Lang Son province have close ties. Based on this, it proposes solutions for preserving, maintaining, and promoting the valuable aspects of this cultural form in each country.

Based on research into the similarities and differences in folk songs of both ethnic groups, this study proposes appropriate solutions for preserving cultural values ​​and suggests organizing Vietnamese-Chinese folk song performances in the border region to promote cultural exchange and strengthen friendship between Vietnam and China.

Vietnam and China are close neighbors and diplomatic relations, economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries have been established for a long time. In the border area of ​​two countries, the Zhuang people in Guangxi and the Nung people in Lang Son have a close relationship. In China, the Nung and the Tay are considered as the Zhuang. According to the history and geography of Lang Son of Vietnam, Nung people in Lang Son originated from Van Thanh, Long Chau and Long Anh of Guangxi, China. These two ethnic groups have many similarities in national culture and one of them is folk songs.

The research aims to study the folk songs of the Nung people in Lang Son province of Vietnam and the Zhuang people in Guangxi of China (called Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region), thus finding similarities and differences. From there, solutions are proposed to preserve and promote the good values ​​of this kind of culture in each country.

Based on the study of the similarities and differences in the folk songs of both tribes, solutions are proposed to maintain cultural values ​​in each country. Besides, it is proposed to organize Vietnamese-Chinese folksongs activities in the border area with the aim of promoting cultural exchanges and enhancing friendships between Vietnam and China.
