The thesis is the first monograph to synthesize the entire system of relics and artifacts at Dien Tho Palace (Hue Imperial City) through the excavation in 1999.
Focus on synthesizing the results found on the relic's stratigraphy, construction scale, and scope of the architectural units in Dien Tho palace.
Conduct a systematic classification and evaluation of the relics found during the excavation at Dien Tho Palace. Study the characteristics of the system of relics in all aspects: type, material, pattern, technique.
Comparing, synthesizing and analyzing the characteristics of the system of relics and artifacts at Dien Tho Palace and some other works in Hue Imperial City to determine the values of this relic system in relation to other relics of the same nature and age.
Through research on the system of relics and artifacts in Dien Tho Palace, we will contribute to learning more about the architectural appearance as well as the function of the relic.
The thesis can be used as a reference for the restoration, embellishment and promotion of the value of Dien Tho Palace in particular and Hue Imperial City in general in response to the practical needs of the world heritage site. At the same time, the thesis contributes to clarifying the architectural characteristics and architectural decorative arts of the Nguyen Dynasty.
The research results of the thesis contribute to the study, research and provision of accurate documents on matters related to Dien Tho Palace, thereby contributing to the understanding of the basic characteristics of architectural units in the Hue Imperial City system in particular and Hue royal architecture in general.
