10. Summary of the thesis results:
This thesis presents several theoretical and practical issues, as well as discussing assessment and therapeutic intervention methods related to obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
In Chapter 2, through case study analysis, the author examines the client's problems in their interpersonal relationships and proposes a psychotherapeutic intervention plan.
In the intervention section, the author describes in detail the sequential steps, the therapeutic techniques used, and the evaluation of the intervention's effectiveness. After participating in therapy, the client showed more positive changes in daily activities, was able to control obsessive thoughts, reduced many compulsive behaviors, and no longer felt stressed or uncomfortable, or powerless about unnecessary thoughts and behaviors. Overall, the client's condition improved significantly compared to before the intervention.
11. Practical applications:
Currently, research on interventions for OCD patients, while not yet widespread, has significant scientific and practical implications. The author's topic is relevant to psychotherapy for patients with OCD. Furthermore, this thesis contributes to applied research, serving as a reference for intervention approaches for clients with OCD.
12. Future research directions:
- Expand the scope of research to further clarify the relationship between factors outside of therapeutic techniques (therapeutic relationships) and the effectiveness of psychotherapy for patients with OCD.
- Expand research to verify the reliability, validity, and overall adaptability of the OCD scale within the Vietnamese cultural context.
