10. Summary of the thesis results:
This thesis introduces the basic content related to grammaticalization theory and the phenomenon of converting content words to function words in Vietnamese, viewed from a grammaticalization perspective.
Based on the theory of grammaticalization, this thesis examines the phenomenon of grammaticalization of some directional and non-directional verbs, transforming them into "function words." Through various linguistic sources, the thesis has:
- This study quantitatively evaluates the frequency of occurrence (use) of directional and non-directional verbs of motion, both as verbs and prepositions, in the surveyed corpus.
- Quantitative correlation analysis of the function of the surveyed verb group as verbs and prepositions.
Based on the survey results obtained, the thesis has affirmed the phenomenon of grammaticalization of related word groups. These results can be considered as the outcome of a case study, on the basis of which the theoretical framework of grammaticalization can be applied to solve problems on a broader level in Vietnamese grammar.
11. Practical applications:
The results describing and analyzing the phenomenon of grammaticalization can be applied to the compilation of dictionaries and grammar books, as well as to the teaching and learning of Literature in schools today.
12. Future research directions:
Further research into the process of grammaticalization, not only in verbs but also in other word categories, will contribute to clarifying the characteristics of the Vietnamese language from the perspective of grammaticalization theory.
13. Published works related to the thesis: None

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
The thesis introduces the basics of the grammaticalization theory and the transfer of content words to function words in Vietnamese language.
Based on the grammaticalization theory, the thesis investigates the grammaticalization of some directional movement verbs and some undirectional movement verbs which become function words. With various sources of data, the thesis:
- Study the frequency of directional movement verbs and undirectional movement verbs when they function as verbs and prepositions.
- Analyzes the qualitative correlation of the survey verbs performing as verbs and prepositions.
After the analysis, the thesis gives an affirmative evaluation of the grammaticalization of the surveyed verbs. This can be considered as the result of a case study, from which can be developed to study this phenomenon on a larger scale of Vietnamese grammar.
11. Practical applicability:
The results of the thesis can be applicable to writing dictionaries, grammar books as well as language and literature teaching and learning at schools.
12. Further research directions:
Study the grammaticalization of other parts of speech in order to clarify the characteristics of Vietnamese language from the perspective of the grammaticalization theory.
13. Thesis-related publications: No
