- Exploiting creative trends, the search for innovation in the content and art of Cao Duy Son's short stories to see the innovation of short stories written about the topic of Vietnam's mountainous regions during the renovation period. At the same time, compare with other works of contemporary writers writing about the topic of ethnic minorities to find out the uniqueness, novelty and affirm the role and contribution of the writer in the national literature.

- This study is designed to learn about ethnic minority women in short stories of Cao Duy Son, namely “Nhung chuyen o lung Co Sau”, “Nhung dam may hinh nguoi”, “Hoa bay cuoi troi”, “Ngoi nha xua ben suoi”, “Nguoi cho”.

- This study also aims at exploiting the creativity and innovation in content and artistic value of Cao Duy Son's short stories to show the renovation in stories on the theme of mountainous area in Economic Reform Period in Vietnam. At the same time, the research compares and contrasts Cao Duy Son's works with those of other writers who wrote about this topic to find out the originality and to praise the important role of Cao Duy Son in Vietnamese literature.
