This thesis reconstructs the appearance and development process of Cheo (Vietnamese traditional opera).modern:The birth, development, and demise of modern Cheo (Vietnamese traditional opera) and author Nguyen Dinh Nghi - the leading figure of modern Cheo. The inheritance and transformation in terms of realistic portrayal and expressive forms of the scripts.modern rowingcompared totraditional rowingFollowing the modernization trend (the emergence of stages - theaters, audiences, music, dance, visual arts, acting, and especially the influence of French theatrical culture... And the main point is to analyze, to some extent, the inheritance and transformation that created the innovation of modern Cheo in terms of themes, ideological topics, structure, characters, language... compared to traditional Cheo scripts). Some meanings of preserving tradition and innovating modern Cheo, with its new characteristics of this period.

11. Practical applications:

This thesis serves as a reference for those interested in researching modern Cheo literature. It is especially useful for those currently working in Cheo, who can apply the successes (and failures) of modern Cheo to contemporary theater, contributing to the study of reformed Cheo, particularly regarding the author Nguyen Dinh Nghi.

12. Future research directions:

When conditions permit, we will conduct research in the following direction: Investigating the influence of French theater on the modernization of Cheo (Vietnamese traditional opera) after the period of modern Cheo from 1945 to the present.

On farourable conditions, I will keep on researching the influence of Franch stage in modern CHEO especially NDNghi's work sa well as CHEO modern nization from 1945 to now.
